David Fifita lived up to his reputation and Jayden Campbell continued to forge one of his own as the Titans secured the final spot in the playoffs with a 44-0 rout of the Warriors.

In a match where winning was not necessarily enough, the Titans managed to achieve everything required of them, and then some. The result relegated the Sharks to ninth spot and out of the finals.

In a spiteful end to the match, the Warriors at one stage had three players in the sin bin and the match was a 12 v 10 affair. Jazz Tevaga, Matt Lodge and Kane Evans were each given 10-minute breathers after failing to keep their emotions under control.

Jarrod Wallace was the Titans player banished to the sidelines for his part in the unsavoury scenes.

The Titans needed to win by an 11-point margin to eliminate Cronulla - they had that covered inside the opening 20 minutes and were effectively five points to the good when they led 16-0 at half-time.

Exciting prospect Campbell, hooker Mitch Rein and barnstorming forward Fifita all crossed in a first half dominated by the home team.

When Fifita crashed over for his second four-pointer of the day within two minutes of play resuming after the break the lead was 22-0 and the Titans were well clear of the Sharks on for-and-against.

Campbell’s fine afternoon continued when he supplied the final pass for a Brian Kelly try that made the score 28-0.

With the Warriors down to 10 men, Patrick Herbert and Campbell both scored to continue a most unhappy afternoon for Nathan Brown's team.

Titans prop Moeaki Fotuaika started the celebrations early when he won the race to a kick to score in the 79th minute.

The Warriors' season, the second in which they were based in Australia due to border closures related to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be remembered as one in which a series of narrow losses proved far too great of a hurdle to overcome.
