Talented Trio Retained Until 2017

The Aquis Gold Coast Titans have re-signed three of their most promising under-20s players in 18-year-old Jed Cartwright and under-20s State of Origin representatives from this season, Brian Kelly and Oshae Tuiasau until the end of the 2017 season.

Centre Cartwright, son of Titans foundation coach John Cartwright, has extended his current deal while utility back Kelly,19, and front-rower Tuiasau, 20, have agreed to new two-year deals.

Previously Karl Lawton (also an under-20s Origin player this season) also signed for two years, meaning four of the most talented players in our ranks will progress into the NRL ranks at the Titans.

While still eligible for the National Youth League next season Cartwright and Kelly will train with the NRL squad in the pre-Christmas training period and benefit greatly from exposure to the full-time environment, while Tuiasau and Lawton will be part of the NRL squad.

Cartwright played only 10 games in his debut NYC season because of an ankle injury that required surgery, but scored eight tries (and 19 goals), while Kelly (10 tries) and Tuiasau have been among the team’s mainstays, playing 19 games each.

Cartwright (Tugun), Lawton (Burleigh) and Kelly (Ballina) are locals while Tuiasau was born in Auckland and played his latter junior football in Goodna, near Ipswich.

Hayden Schwass has been our best U20s player this season imo and Daniel shows great potential as well. Really hope we do everything to keep both brothers, because like Elgey, they're the kind of kids you rebuild around.

Great news about Kelly, Carty and Tui though. I wish we could keep them all.

Great see that we have locked in those above , and agree that the Schwass brothers need to be next.

Hazard isn't even contracted so wouldn't need to release him but yeah im all for Schwassy x2 being brought in
