I have to agree with CS, Andrew Ryan should get a bench spot at most. Buderus is done as a rep player, Cameron Smith & Robbie Farah are the top 2 #9's in the NRL atm (just my opinion). Jamie Lyon should be gone, replaced with Dean Collis or push Matt King into the centres & El Masri on the wing.

Luke Bailey, Steve Simpson, Brett White & even Nathan Hindmarsh... wow, these guys must be under some pressure surely. Gallen, Hoffman, O'Meley & Clinton all must stand a good chance now to get a shot surely. It can't be any worse now that the series is done & dusted.

Hayne, Kimmorley, Bird & Stewart were the only guys I would have praised after that debacle from NSW. But hey, I hope they pick the same squad (barring injuries of course) so Qld can whip 'em 3-0...

Matt King can't be left out on the wing. Queensland attacked his wong all game, and it worked. Move King to the centres to replace Lyon and bring in a specialist winger.

I see you lost a sig bet too Hoppy. Unfortunately, mine can get a lot worse if we go belly-up in game 3. But I will need a Queensland Origin sig for a couple of months at least. Anyone wish to provide one?

As for changes, Farrah has to be in the team somewhere, I'd bring in Ryles and O'Meley, put Hoffman in the starting lineup, Mullen at 5/8, Ben Smith in the centres and El Magic on the wing (bye bye King and Lyon), dump White, Simpson, Ryan, Bailey (he's carrying an injury anyway), and bring in Ben Creagh and Anthony Laffranchi.

    To be less confusing:
    1. Brett Stewart
    2. Jarryd Hayne
    3. Matt Cooper
    4. Ben Smith
    5. Hazem El Masri
    6. Jarred Mullen
    7. Brett Kimmorley
    13. Ryan Hoffman
    12. Willie Mason
    11. Nathan Hindmarsh
    10. Jason Ryles
    9. Danny Buderus
    8. Mark O'Meley

    14. Greg Bird
    15. Ben Creagh
    16. Anthony Laffranchi
    17. Robbie Farah

I realise there are no props on the bench, but Laffranchi can certainly handle front row, and Creagh has basically been used as a prop this year by the Dragons, and Willie can move forawrd as well, so I don't se too many problems.

My Queensland team would be the one captained by Andrew Dunneman I posted in another thread.

I think Watmough definitely deserves his spot.

Seen how the Broncos have been doing sans Lockyer and Thurston? Actually, the Broncos have been doing crap WITH Lockyer this year. They are no chance.

King, Lyon and Buderus need to go.

Mason plays his best at second row so he should go there.

The blues need some players with passion for their state and some fire, bring Gallen and Rlyes in the mix.

And buderus needs to run the ball or he will be left behind. His defense was good but msith showed how a real hooker should play.

I'd love to see Bluey Southern get a run for NSW. He busts his guts for the Cowboys every week and nobody in the NSW team has been pulling off the bone crunching tackles that he makes every week.

Whoever they go with, they definitely need to get alot more aggression in their defence - as long as Qld still win though.

For Qld, I'd like to see Bowen get a chance if Tate's out but he's nowhere near as good on the wing. He'll hopefully get his chance next year with Berrigan going to England.

    Gallen for Ryan
    Watmough for Simpson
King to centre for Lyon, El Masri comes onto the wing
O'Meley to prop, White to bench, Bailey drops out
Monaghan and Farah in for Kimmorley and Anasta

and fit Tongue, Steve Southern and Laffranchi in there somewhere too

OK after last night... Here is the side I would currently pick for SOO 3 for NSW:

    01. Brett Stewart
    02. Hazem El Masri
    03. Matt Cooper
    04. Matt King
    05. Jarrad Hayne
    06. Kurt Gidley/Jarred Mullen
    07. Brett Kimmorley
    08. Mark O'Meley
    09. Danny Buderus
    10. Willie Mason
    11. Anthony Watmough
    12. Andrew Ryan
    13. Reni Maitua

    14. Paul Gallen
    15. Robbie Farah
    16. Greg Bird
    17. Anthony Laffranchi

    Stewart definitely deserves his spot.
I'd get rid of Lyon, he's done nothing.
I think El Masri deserves a spot, has for years.
Buderus needed to stand up and make a difference, but he did nothing all game. For whatever reason, time to give someone else a shot. Bring on Farrar.

Kimmorley needs to be replaced. I said after origin 1, if Noddy gets the jersey, NSW will lose. A halfback should provide attacking options when close to the line, he provided nothing, the team was lost whenever close to the Qld try line. If Mullen is back from injury, great. Give him another shot. His kicking game was rubbished in game 1, but Kimmorley sent the ball straight to a player more times than not aswell. Hell, maybe give Orford a go. He couldn't do any worse.
Laffranchi and Gallen deserve a run.
Also, i'd like to see props and second rowers actually played in their position.

As a Qld fan I don't really care what NSW do. But... if I'm a NSW selector, I decide to look to the future, the next era of NSW stars. In saying that, here's the team I would pick:

    1. Brett Stewart
    2. Jarryd Hayne
    3. Ben Smith
    4. Dean Collis
    5. Michael Gordon (does he qualify, wasn't sure...?)
    6. Jarrod Mullen
    7. Mitchell Pearce (he's playing well enough in an average side)
    8. Dane Tilse (see Mick Gordon)
    9. Robbie Farah
    10. Mark O'Meley
    11. Willie Mason
    12. Anthony Watmough
    13. Paul Gallen

    14. Chris Lawrence
    15. Kurt Gidley
    16. Alan Tongue
    17. Ryan Hoffman

Now of course, that side wouldn't get picked currently, but it should be, there is still youth & experience with a lil' bit of 'X-Factor' in there as well
