Lucky us, the one and only player charged, though there is a game left tonight.

Looks like we'll lose Clint for a week...

Amos pleads guilty, Thorn not charged

    May 22, 2007

GOLD Coast hooker Clint Amos has been suspended for two NRL games after pleading guilty to a dangerous throw on St George Illawarra winger Jason Nightingale.

Amos was the only player cited by the NRL match review committee from the weekend round, with Brisbane Broncos back rower Brad Thorn escaping a charge today after being placed on report in Monday night?s loss to Manly.

Referee Jared Maxwell placed Thorn on report for a lifting tackle on Jason King in the 48th minute of Manly Sea Eagles? 18-6 win at Brookvale Oval.

Interchange forward David Taylor was also expected to come under scrutiny for his part in the tackle, but the match review committee deemed neither player had a charge to answer.

?Lifting tackle on King by Taylor. King doesn?t reach a dangerous position. Minor contribution from Thorn. Penalty sufficient,? the match review summary, released today, read.

Amos was charged with a grade one dangerous throw for his tackle on Nightingale in the 37th minute.

Carry-over points from a similar offence last year means Amos will have to serve a two-game ban, instead of one.

He will miss the Titans' home games against South Sydney on Saturday, and Canberra Raiders the following week.

Queensland forward Nate Myles has pleaded guilty to a grade one dangerous throw on NSW rookie Brett White and has been banned for two games. Myles will be available for Game II at Telstra Stadium on June 13.

Tonie Carroll has escaped charges from last night. The match review committee looked at two separate high tackles by Carroll in the first half, on New South Wales prop Brett White and centre Matt Cooper, but found he had no case to answer.
