Robina transport hub to be finished by 2008 NRL season

The Queensland Government says a new $15 million transport hub at Robina should be completed in time for the 2008 National Rugby League (NRL) season kick-off.

The hub will include a high volume bus station and extra parking for 230 cars.

The Member for Gaven, Phil Gray, says the hub is near the Robina Stadium, the home of the Gold Coast Titans.

"That's going to provide a much faster service for people and put more trains on the line," he said.

"Also to be remembered is that it will be the point for the extension for the rail line to the south, with a station planned for Reedy Creek."

Hopefully this will solve some of the predicted transport problems when we move to Skilled Park.

I saw this on the Gold Coast News Last night...They said not much parking for cars..The best way to go to the games, will be by Public transport. and the Computer Image of the outside of the Stadium, looked great. Very smart!

Definitely needed!
Going to Cararra for a trial match last year was horrendous. Arrived at the station, the bus due to go to the ground never turned up, none of the other drivers knew anything, no extra services, ended up sharing a cab to get there.
Getting back to the station was easier, but the train trip was awful, track work, changing from train to bus to train, then a huge wait for the train to arrive.

Hopefully it'll be a bit better organised for 2007 before we get the 2008 hub!

it won't fix all the problems, i wouldn't think, but the better the transport facilities we can get the better.
