Australia don't throw games Kimmy... they are too competitive to do that...

England must be congratulated for finally showing some fight and no fear... the way Joyce batted today and Strauss, was with confidence and complete composure... and we haven't seen that all summer.

Australia did come in with Tait who is always expensive but gets wickets, Clark who has been wayward at times but was good, McGrath who is a great bowler but can go for a few in latter overs, like today and then part timers Clarke and spinner white.

Australia are missing the leadership of Ricky Ponting... but they will be ok... and they will get this total as long as they remain focused.... and I think the fact they are in the finals and against an English side that hasn't done too much all season, they may have gone in a bit relaxed.

England though should be congratulated, showing some fight, that is what we want to see.

I am loving watching this game, mainly because Australia are getting their asses handed to them on a platter This is what England has had the potential of doing all summer. We saw a bit of it for a couple of days in the Adelaide test match, but nothing else, until today. Hopefully England and New Zealand can keep up their form and give the Aussies a REAL run for their money!

    Finally!!!!!!
Finally England have played better than a buch of pre-schoolers!!!
    Hooray for them!

    But seriously,
it was nice of Australia to play them without Brett Lee, Mitchel Johnson and Ricky Ponting
(gave them a sporting chance )
or........ AUS would rather play England in the final? (conspiricy theory :!: )

but i think Brad Hodge (the one catch wonder) & Shaun Tait have pretty much RSVP'd "NO THANKS" to the world cup invitation.

but now england can (hopefully) go home after a disgraceful summer,
with a taste of what it feels like to be Australian (ie winners :win: )
Well done boys! - i was starting too feel pretty bad for them

I dont see why the media would get into them?
Its the first game they've lost in almost 4 months
with basically a "B" team too.
They are just cruising into the finals i reckon
but if they lost the finals.... then you'll see some media carve ups!!

Who did they win that one game against????? :dead:

Besides, Australia are world champions for the past 8 years straight!
If they wanna lose to England, thats their business.
    You gotta respect their decision.

Kimmy, I can assure you, only you and the rest of NZ are really going to worry about this game... it wasn't the greatest result for you guys, but I am sure you can still make the finals...

I don't really care that we lost tonight, and I know neither will most Australian Cricket fans... we were so far in front and had won so many, that was bound to happen sooner or later.

Good on England for winning, and finally showing some fight and competitive spirit... we've been waiting for that for 3 months now... and we finally got it.. so YAY for that and them not being completely shamed before the World Cup... if they have some confidence, we at least get competition.

As long as we don't lose a lot of games in succession, then this is a loss that was going to happen and unfortunately did sooner or later, that is the law of averages... you have to lose sometime.

Lets hope the boys become more fired up after this and win the rest of the series... we've had the bad game, now lets get back to playing good...
