That is because of the fact that there is DST.. if there wasn't.. we would all be in darkness an hour earlier... so to get that extra summer light.. there was the decision to do DST.. but hey.. each to their own as I said..

Well considering we don't have DST in QLD i doubt it's the reason for it. The days are naturally longer during summer, why mess around with clocks.

Yeah for you it is fine.. I live in NSW LOL.. .. so for us the sun sets earlier... so we need it.. I reckon this is one we will never solve.. so as I have said before lets agree to disagree..

I will just have to get use to talking to people and knowing the time is an hour behind mine or 3 hours if talking to Perth..

Your in the same timzone so it would only be 30 min earlier or later.

But that works on both ends, it means he starts an hour later in the mornings.

No farmer uis going to want to wake up an hour later. could u imagne coming home a 7:30 at night after working all day. you wouldn't be able to see and talk to your family. they go to bed most days before 8:30 so they can be right for the next day.

When I did live on the Tweed, the family lived on DST, worked on EST. No issue for me. Mum still gets confused even after living with it for the last 18 years.

If the reason for not having it was because Sir Joe was still alive and he totally opposed it, :angry: .

Fall in line with the rest of the eastern seaboard, or we may as well go back to being separate colonies of the 1800's.

I like daylight savings cause it means that i can stay out longer at night, but i hate it cause the sun gets up at like 4am and its really annoying when you are trying to sleep.

No it darker in the morning as you get the extra hour of sun in the afternoon.
Here in Brisbane when the sun rises say 4.45am and if we had daylight saving it would be 5.45 am .

You ppl should be lucky you aint over here in NZ, we are 3 hours behind qld, like 6 hours behind perth...usually only like 5...but i love DLS...sorta...

So i wouldnt complain if i were you ppl
