Kirk Yeaman, who has South Sydney officials excited.
Yeaman, due to arrive in Sydney later this week with Great Britain coach Brian Noble and the other members of the Tri-Nations squad involved in the premiership decider at Old Trafford, has been targeted by the Rabbitohs for 2008.
Shane Richardson, a former part-owner of Hull FC, was among the record crowd of 72,582 that also included Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand, and the Souths chief executive revealed to the Herald that the reason for his trip was partly to try to persuade 23-year-old Yeaman to join the Russell Crowe-controlled club.
"Kirk Yeaman is a very good player. In fact, I rate him as one of the best young centres in the game," Richardson said.
Introduced to first grade by Rabbitohs football director Shaun McRae, who coached Hull for six seasons from 1999, Yeaman's attributes include a strong right fend that has helped land him 23 tries in 21 matches for Hull this year.
