(haha all melbourne/ex melbourne peeps. :lol!
Greg Alexander. All time favourite.
He had everything. Great passing, kicking and running game, top defender and goal kicker.
Most of my other favourites are from the same era.
Mark Geyer. One of the most passionate forwards i've seen, terrorising both attacks and defence.
John Cartwright. Partnered MG in the second row, always standing in tackles and looking for the offload.
Can't go past Royce Simmons, his 2 tries in the grand final will always stick in my mind.
Graham Mackay was probably my favourite winger. Big and fast, I remember him more than once running right over the top of defenders on the way to the try line.
More recently there's Ryan Girdler. At the top of his game he was simply awesome. I think better at centre than 5/8 where he spent some time, great try scorer and a nice guy off the field too. After a match at Suncorp which the Panthers lost, he and Craig Gower came out of the pub they were having some drinks in to sign stuff for some friend's kids who'd come up from the coast to see the Panthers. Something they didn't have to do, and something the kids will never forget.
Scott Sattler. Amazing workrate. His defence is probably what got Penrith to the grand final, aswell as That Tackle to put the nail in the roosters coffin. Briefly met him after a game in Penrith, seemed a really nice guy too. Seemed shocked four of us drove down for the weekend to go to the game.
Preston Campbell. Admittedly, I was a bit unsure about his signing at Penrith. But quickly impressed. Not only is he a great player, he's as tough as nails and totally fearless. Will put his body on the line to make a tackle or kick a field goal, and bounces right back up after being hammered by men twice his size. And whatever questions about his defence, i've seen him single handedly put front rowers on their backside.
Tony Puletua. My latest favourite forward. He always seems to have something in him when the team is down. Probably my favourite memory of him was in a game we were losing, he made 5 big tackles in a row, the opposition lost ground while he just hammered whoever had the ball. In the end didn't help, he never gave up and played some inspirational football.
It's no wonder I like the Titans, with so many of my favourites coming here.
Darren Lockyer
Karmichael Hunt
Shane Webke
Brent Tate
Johnathan Thurston
Mick DeVere (sp)
