The Catalans Dragons have signed Australian Clint Greenshields from NRL side St George Illawarra.
The 24-year-old utility back, who has made 27 appearances for St George, will join the French side from next season after agreeing a three-year contract.

Catalans coach Mick Potter knows all about Greenshields, having coached him when was a coach at St George.

"This is a very positive signing for the club and we are yet to see the best Clint has to offer," said Potter.

The signing of Greenshields completes the Dragons quota of overseas players for 2007 following the recent recruitment of Australians Adam Mogg and Casey McGuire.

I wish him all the best and it is disappointing to see him leave the NRL at only age 24 given he is a very talented fullback who I feel a NRL has missed out on signing. Mick Potter is making a good fist of the Catalans job and this signing is a positive one for the club. With any luck, Greenshields will be back in the NRL before he is 30 y.o.

he is going to be like another brett dallas IMO. left australia near their peak but sadly brett dropped of but hopefully Clint doesnt. not surprized he went to Catalans with his old premier league coach now being the 1st grade coach so hopefully potter and clint can get Catalans going up the table

Good signing for Les Catalens who are starting to build quite a list of signings for next season... good luck to Clint but a shame to see he couldn't stay in the NRL..

If St-George had re-signed him wouldnt it read "Dragons re-sign Grneeshields" or similar? Plus i had already posted that signing news in the Signings thread yesterday. You even posted a couple of posts after it.

i cant see why everyone is getting confused. if it was the saints then it would read dragons Re-sign Greenshields and doesnt the bbc.co.uk give away tat we are talking about the english game?
