Josh Hannay may go from SOO to Qld Cup within a week! I reckon he might just retain his position with Williams pushing out to a wing or something more strange - Bowen to half back, Williams to fullback and Thurston to 5/8.

Geese are the ultimate team players.

i think he will be in the QLD when he return cause the cowboys are deadset on the idea of Ty being a centre. sad thing for josh who has been loyal to the club since he was 16

The Cowboys need a 5/8, maybe Hannay or Bowman will be moved closer to the action. I also think they may try Bowen at halfback and move Williams to fullback. This would add a whole different dimension to their attack.

That old goose, Paul Mellor is still in the Souths side. I like Mellor as a player, but his time was up years ago. I've only counted around five of six time, he was involved in the play, the last couple of weeks.

He made his debut at 17. He is a stallwort, a consistent player who does not cause rifts and i would bank on being a great team mate most teams would like around

My prime memory of Mellor was in the Tooheys Challenge, which Souths won in 1994. That team had a great playing roster, and Mellor was one of the best, if NOT the best player in that side. I do think, when Cronulla swtiched him to the forwards, that he hasn't been the same player since. Mind you, a couple of years in England wouldn't have helped either.

Mellor is a professional. Something Souths have had a lack of. With Luke MacDougall on the sidelines, Mellor is a must. I'd find somewhere for him in my Souths side - at least you know what you're going to get from him week in and week out.

I'll agree to disagree on this one, but I'll give Mellor some credit for being the least woeful player on the park last Sunday for Souths, which wasn't much to crow about.
