I have gone the Panthers reluctantly though they look stronger on paper. The thing with the Dragons is there young talent play well together in the top grade and step up to the plate more often than not. This will be a tougher than expected contest. I am banking on Gower taking the field.

Aiton is a big loss for Panthers. Always has an impact on the side.

    Penrith Panthers: 10
    Tries: Luke Rooney, Luke Swain
    Goals: Preston Campbell 1/2
    St George Illawarra Dragons: 20
Tries: Dean Young, Matthew Bickerstaff, Daryl Millard
    Goals: Aaron Gorrell 4/4

Dean Young would had to have been the MOM. Danny Wicks has a blinder aswell

I am annoyed at myself for staying with the Panthers as once again the Dragons young talent stood tall (something that I sighted before the game) and got the win over a pathetic Panthers team who are no hope of playing finals football. I posted many weeks ago that I am not off the Dragons pre-season tip of winning the competition, this win only reinforces that position. The Dragons are well coached by Brown and their depth is the best in the NRL competition. Once the rep season ends and the Dragons have their big name players in the 17, they are going to take some stopping in the back half of the season.

Great win for the Dragons - love to hear Browns comment that this is the best that the players have trained since he has been there. The attitude has seemingly fixed itself - and with the worries about uncertain futures to key players solved (Creagh & Head still to go though) the team seems to have settled down.

Defence has been the key to the dragons revival this year, Attack will never be a problem at full strength. Our defence this year has been fantastic for the main, and lately it has been solid as. Just 11 points in 2 games (Rain did help but you still have to make the tackles)

Barretts loss wont be a severe as first thought for mine - though with him fit and firing after his suspension, the Dragons have way shortened in my mind to be there on GF day.

We are on track... things are looking up I just hope that now that we are going well, that we aren't expected to win... we don't need that extra pressure of being favourites heaped onto us (so please stop saying we are favourites for the comp Gus )

Last week I gave Dean Young a wrap because I got to see him perform live and I witnessed his control with the team and around the ruck.

I saw the Dragons highlights this week and it was all Young again.

Maybe he should play more of a dominating player even when all the big names come back!

I think it is important to leave Gasnier in the centres.
The Dragons need to pull his head in and explain to him he is a ball runner not a 5/8
Throwing him in 5/8 limits his outside backs and himself of quality ball.
