Default QLD: Will Lockyer be moved to fullback?

QLD: Will Lockyer be moved to fullback?

After last night's 30 minutes at fullback, there was enough there from Lockyer to suggest that he could be up to taking the number one jersey for Queensland allowing Thurston and Prince to be in the halves. I guess this will depend on the form of Prince who is below par in 2006 in comparison to 2004/05.

    Thoughts?

Depends if Prince is playing well, if he is then I think Lockyer will get moved to full back, other wise he will be five eighth with Bowen at fullback.

Lokyer in my opinion Played himself out of the no.6 and into the no.1.

Without a question of a doubt Lockyer was very quiet in the first 50 minutes of that game and when thurston came on, Lockyer really opened up.. He was floating in and around the line in offence, Which all good full backs should do.

If lockyer plays rep football in No. 6 again I will be very surprised.

Im not sure. Because where does that place Bowen and sorts? We don't want to play to many out of position. And Locky isnt out of position in either No.1 or No.6. I would be happy either way really.

Bowen would be on the bench like the last few years as an impact player.

IMO this would be the best backline for QLD

    1) D Lockyer (c)
    2) G Inglis
    3) Steve Bell
    4) W Tonga or swap with Hodges
    5) J Hodges or swap with Tonga
    6) J Thurston
    7) S Prince
    14) M Bowen

    I agree with Tegee
For qld i think it would be a good idea to pick a side with

    1. Lockyer
    6. Thurston
    7. Prince
    14. Bowen

After 20 min, Bring Bowen into fullback moving Lockyer into the line, You could leave Prince at half, and maybe move Thurston into Lock.

Lockyer looked awesome at Fullback last night, im not saying move him there fulltime, but he is defenitly more of a hole runner than a tactician.

I watched Johns last night at the game, and he barely moves, he strides around like Lewis did behind play, watching sceaming, and thinking 2 plays ahead. To try and make Locker this player eliminates his best asset, and thats seeing the play as it evolves and suming up the action on the run.

He watches the defence, counts there numbers and hits holes like no other fullback. But he needs the ability to become the extra man for it to be effective.

Lockyer is great at 5/8, but he is simply sensational as a fullback.

PS Teegy please never mention Hodges at wing again for SOO:roll:

Bell in the centres true. Tonga is questionable, hasn't done as much as the other two. So in fairness HOdges shouldn't have to give up his centre spot for him, when we all knew HOdges would be much more value to the QLD team in centre then winger spot.

Tonga can always still slot in there, it is a tough choice. Thaiday could slot in too, but we don't know how he would go there, having never seen him on the wing. Tate is always a option too, had a stint at winger before.
