    ^^^^ sideline u r talking total rubbish.
Back in the pre-Origin days nobody cared in nsw about the interstate game. There was zero attendance and zero gloating. It was a non-event.
Don't go about giving a revisionist history lesson in footy.

Is that one large Blue eye i see in the middle of your forehead Bods, if not, then you are just talking S..t. and definitely will never understand why NSW can't engage with the same passion and can't win.

I believe the Queensland spirit and mindset is anchored in the pre-origin era. Regardless if the Blues cared or not. Don't care when they are winning, don't care when they are losing.

^^^ it's how it was back then
I was in Sydney in the 70s and 80s albeit very young however that's how it was
The interstate game was a joke match

I reckon people cared more about City v Country even

That's why they brought in the Origin Concept to the interstate game
To breathe life into the meaningless carcass

People have forgotten or are too young to remember but there are still some of us who know that the pre-Origin Qld team was selected via a city-country process. To say those players treated it lightly is very insulting, just as it would be to those NSW city v country players in the days before City Origin v Country Origin. The carcasses have always been the Sydneyites and nobody else.

^^^^ the City v Country was a bigger event to both fans and players in the 70s 100%.
NSW v QLD was small fry, close to meaningless.
That's why they had to bring in Origin.

No amount of classic historical attempts at revisionism can change that.

And now sadly the International Game has been ruined by the obsession with such a meaningless concept.

Love to see NZ, Samoa, Fiji, Cook Islands etc not have their players poached by a domestic game.
Plus 1/3 of the NRL Comp becomes tripe. Arggg get rid of it. It's not even violent anymore.

I forgot again this is a Cartwright thread. Nice job being a sook Cartwright, well done Carty, gee u set some good standards in the camp while ringing up the Courier Mail to have a whine about the Ball. Onya Carty.
