Assuming Ryder not yet being 18 makes him ineligible to play

Hope this helps to break down the teamlist for anyone unfamiliar with the names (which isn't surprising):

Did NRL pre-season as train and trial before Christmas, and that was it:
    -Jack Garrod (Ipswich)
    -Tom Steadman (Tweed)
-Kyle Foxwell (Ipswich) edit: Think this was Kyle Coghill actually?
    -Luke Burton (Tweed)
    -Jordan Penquitt (Ipswich)
    -Caelys Putoko* (Ipswich, still U19’s)

Continued NRL pre-season Train and Trial post Christmas break, still training with NRL now:
    -Kaleb Ngamanu (Tweed)
    -Vaka Sikahele (Tweed)

    NRL Development list:
    -Seth Nikotemo
    -Arama Hau
    -Oskar Bryant
    -Jaylan De Groot

    NRL Top 30:
    -The rest (9 players)

    Totals:
    Full-time, Top 30: 9
    Full-time, NRL Dev: 4
Not NRL full-time contracted in any capacity: 8

In our starting 17, four players are in our top 30. Two of them haven't played an NRL game. I hope it's entertaining because we prob can't take much more out of it, atleast until they roll on the slightly bigger guns from the reserves for the majority of minutes.

*I expect Caelys Putoko is a good chance of going full-time in 2025.

A particularly exciting matchup is going to be in the forwards. A real coin flip.

    Here we have the Dolphins:

    8. Flegler (QLD Origin)
    9. JMK (Kiwis)
    10. Nicholls (149 NRL games)
    11. Euan Aitken (177 NRL games)
    12. Kaufusi (QLD Origin)
    13. Tom Gilbert (QLD Origin)

And here we have the Titans:

    8. Luke Burton (Tweed Seagulls, has 6 weeks NRL pre-season under his belt)
    9. Vaka Sikahele (Tweed Seagulls, 20 year old who has played 24 games of Qcup)
    10. Jordan Penquitt (Ipswich, yet to play Qcup)
    11. Ryan Foran (20 year old played 1 game of Qcup)
    12. Seth Nikotemo (19 year old yet to play Qcup)
    13. Arama Hau (19 year old yet to play Qcup)

    Excellent

Small correction here, I don't think Kyle Foxwell did NRL pre-season with us. In fact, I have no idea who he even is, other than the fact he's with Ipswich. Kyle Coghill, also of Ipswich Jets halfback fame, is the one who did pre-season with us before Christmas.

Personally don’t mind it. Give our guys a “reward” and some exposure while giving the Porpoises nada.

I’m pretty sure Kyle Foxwell is actually a random LoT forum poster who the Titans have decided to give a jersey to through the make-a-wish foundation. Can’t wait to see you out there GT!.

Yeah T at least we can see some of our young guys go out there with minimal expectation or pressure and see just how far off they are. Same goes for the Qcup guys.

I'm surprised Ben Liyou isn't playing.

    https://open.spotify.com/episode/7dd...7103bc84764a87 - Jimmy L interview.

Mentions that training has had basically two/three trial games a week with serious physicality and this is a "thanks" from Des, Des is confident with where the group is at. They expect JC and Dave back round 4/5. Good banter about Keenan getting away from the violence at the Broncos.

Des has a odd way of saying thanks.

Good interview. Like the specifics on what’s improved from previous years in pre-season.

That is terrible news if they’re both out for that long. JC isn’t the end of the world since Kini is a great replacement, but Dave being out for that long is a huge loss as Klese/ Stimson bring nowhere near his impact.

Is Kini a lock-in to replace JC? I feel AJ goes back to fb and one of HSS, Jojo or Schoupp fill that right centre spot. Difita out puts us back to where we were last season with Fermor taking his left edge and Palasia strengthening the middles but still putting either Clark or Haas on the bench. Not great tbh.
