I will be strangely negative, but 36-16 is not the greatest sign against a team roster such as the Clydesdales. Its a win but its nothing to get excited about, really it is disappointing that 3 tries were scored.

Yeah Clydesdales are horrible

But you can still take things out of individual performances, which is more important than the results at Qcup level (from a Titans perspective)

He went ok mate, looked for the pass or offload first a few too many times IMO instead of just running the ball. Needs to find his moments a bit better. Defensively still a WIP.

Disappointing that we don’t get to see a Boyd/Sexton match up this week. Joliffe at 13 came from nowhere.. now we have three locks on the bench

How many locks are too many?

I'm thinking Des is sticking to his plan of going with the preseason until there's an inarguable case for players to be dropped for others. While he's an experienced coach, he's also new to the club and personal interest often gets in the way of our better judgement.

Mind you, Des being Des, there could be wholesale changes with the squad he's announced.

I reckon we'll learn a lot more on Saturday.

Surplus locks isn’t really an issue if they’re just playing as extra bench props. Prop and lock can be pretty interchangeable these days.
