Round 15 team: Brimson one of two big ins to rattle the cage
https://www.titans.com.au/news/2023/...ttle-the-cage/
AJ Brimson will be a welcomed return for the Gold Coast, recovering from a hamstring injury to face the Wests Tigers at Cbus Super Stadium on Thursday night.
One of four new faces coming into the line-up for the matchup, the experienced star regains his coveted No. 1 jersey for the clash, with a full focus of helping the Titans get back in the winner’s circle in his first game back since Round 9.
Jaimin Jolliffe will also return and add plenty of grit off the interchange bench after rupturing his pec on the eve of Round 2, set to take on the only team he's faced in 2023 being the Tigers - where he was part of a determined 22-10 victory to open the season.
In further changes, coach Justin Holbrook has recalled Brian Kelly to the centres, shifting Phil Sami to the wing in his 100th appearance and Jojo Fifita moves to the extended reserves; meanwhile, Kruise Leeming will come onto the pine in place of Chris Randall who was hit with a one-match ban from a dangerous contact charge in Round 14, resulting in Sam Verrills promoted to the starting side after coming back via the bench last start.
David Fifita will miss the contest due to presenting possible delayed concussion symptoms following last Saturday’s game against the Rabbitohs - the Titans opting to take a precautionary measure and rest the star given the short turnaround.
Kick-off is at 7.50pm on Thursday at Cbus Super Stadium.

What the hell kind of material on Holbrook's harddrive does BK have access to? Seriously, this is ridiculous.
Erin Clark too for that matter.
Is Holbrook serious surely that's a joke the 17 he has named. Once again chop changes to outside backs and what is the go with the bench
So Holbrook drops Jojo and Kini but promotes/retains Kelly and Erin "useless as tits on a bull" Clark?!?!
All I can do is laugh at his utter cluelessness.
Is it possible to sack a coach due to a team list? If there was any hint of doubt left that Holbrook is an incompetent moron and a fraud this team list is dispels it. The bloke just refuses to pay attention to what happens on game day over and over again.
Titans Halftime/Tigers Fulltime looking appealing
*this is not financial advice
Is it even just Holbrook at this point? Surely everyone is involved in these decisions or they keep letting him do this stuff and no one is telling him to change it or he's not listening. Has someone asked him why the f he uses subs like he does? Is anyone actually wondering why this stuff keeps happening this team out at training and why do they keep doing the same things and expecting different results. Why did we apparently have a "big" pre season on defence and fitness yet we are having the same problems if not worse then ever....
You can see in Holbrooks pressers that he has no answers and reverts back to injuries, young guys who he f'ing picked or that we're a good team in the first half.... Is everyone just living in fantasy land at Parkwood and hoping it magically gets better or is it just acceptable as our standards?
It's no surprise Jojo got dropped the second he had a bad game when Kelly is waiting who I'd rather at centre then Sami tbh. If your going to do this stuff to Jojo though and bring him back as a centre, PLAY HIM THERE IN Q CUP. Even the way we used Haas, He's played 30 min stints at max then gets thrown into right back row to play 80 against the hardest left side in the comp and we expect him to handle that??? I can't really be critical of his performance because he got thrown to the wolves.
Poor Alick man, He deserves a shot in first grade even if he fails, He gets to watch guys underperform constantly and he doesn't even get a shot when he's most needed.
There's so much wrong but oh well, Hopefully it's over soon.

i would suggest this dropping of JOJO is part of Holbrooks increasing use of resting players. He hinted a few weeks back in a media interview that BK would be rested and this is what happened. The same thing happended with AKP and Schoup.
This whole resting of players is ridicolous coaching as it:
1. Does not build team co-ordination or team confidence if new players are being interchanged weekly. How many times have we had the same backline and we wonder why they are clueless in defence with different players in the team and in different positions each week.
2. Resting players is not putting the best team on the field and thereby hurting fans, sponsors and the club.. The Board should be demanding that the best team is put on the field each week.
3. No player likes being put on the bench let alone being rested and there would be a deep down resentment for such an approach but no player would be openly critical of the policy. We wonder why when the battle gets tough, the team buckles if not all players are 100 per committed to team selections.
It appears Holbrrok wants to be friends with all players and not upset players by giving every one a go. It is like every kid gets a lolly. . The NRL does not work out that way and players have more respect of a coach if they know exactly where they sit in the team. I would suspect some players are not 100 per cent behind the direction of team selections and IMO it is one of a myriad of deep down problems within the club.

The only thing I like is having aj and jc on the field for the whole game. Fingers crossed.
Was really hoping to see Alick given a run. Happy to see new guys have a shot and fail then the same lot fail over and over again.
Really over it.
Go tigers.
