Massive win and Taliah should be back in the next week or two. If we can cut the errors out we should be a good chance, Mato has been insane this year.

Hearing the massive YES from I think Booth half way through the field goal floating in was hilarious.

Titans v Wests Tigers: Breayley-Nati free to play; Apps, Horne in doubt
    https://www.nrl.com/news/2023/08/29/...orne-in-doubt/

The Titans are back at home this weekend and will host the Wests Tigers with the home team on a high after moving into third place on the ladder following another close win last round.

A field goal in the 69th minute from Lauren Brown secured the 23-22 win against St George Illawarra, with the Gold Coast nearly letting the game slip despite holding a 14-0 lead early after letting Teagan Berry run in for four tries to nearly steal the match.

A full 70-minute performance will be high on the agenda for Karyn Murphy's side who come up against a Wests Tigers team who will be licking their wounds after suffering a heavy defeat last round.

The joint venture travel to the Gold Coast after going down 48-10 to the top-of-the-table Roosters, and will have to draw on all of their resilience if they are to upset the home side.

    ROUND 7 - SUNDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER

    Team News

Titans: Rilee Jorgensen and Dannii Perese return to the interchange after missing last week's win over the Dragons which shifts Kaitlyn Phillips and Sophie Buller to the reserves. Lauren Brown looks set to start in the halves again with Sienna Lofipo moving to the interchange.

Wests Tigers: Kezie Apps and Rikeya Horne both failed head injury assessments last week but have been named and will be monitored. If either one is ruled out the likes of Hope Tevaga and Taylor Osborne could come into the side. Sarah Togatuki has accepted a one-match ban for a hip-drop tackle and will miss the clash with Imogen Gobran named to start in her absence. Botille Vette-Welsh returns to fullback with Tess Staines back on the wing while Brett Kimmorley has called in teenage halfback Brooke Talataina for an NRLW debut.

Chasing 70: Murphy working towards complete performance against Tigers
    https://www.titans.com.au/news/2023/...s-finals-loom/

Whilst Karyn Murphy might be needing weekly visits to the cardiologist after a number of tight finishes, the Titans NRLW coach is confident her team can piece together a 70-minute performance in the lead-up to finals.

Taking away plenty from now three wins at the death this season - including another clutch Lauren Brown field goal against the Dragons last Saturday - this Sunday sets itself up as a perfect opportunity against an injury-ravaged Tigers to join the dots from the past six showings in a complete performance just in time for the pointy end of the year.

In order to do this, Murphy believes it's about concentrating on staying focussed on controlling games for long periods - which her side is continually learning to do in this first six weeks of the competition.

"It's about consistency, sticking to the process and not going away from something that's working," she said.

"It was definitely working for that first period of last week's game and then we went away from it, so that's been a big part of our review this week is looking at that.

"If we can put it all together for the full 70, we'll be good footy team and hard to beat.

"It was only the round just gone that we were able to hit the lead and not have points against us early, so when that happened, it was a different position for the girls and something maybe they weren't used to... we then left points out there going into half-time and then let the Dragons back into the game.

"So as we're going along, we're learning plenty of lessons and we need to be better for that whole 70 minutes."

The 23-22 triumph has moved the Titans to third on the NRLW ladder with now having three of their past four wins being decided in the final minute of the game, and despite it continually giving the coaching staff and fans heart palpitations, the tight finishes shouldn't be taken negatively, given it's taught the Gold Coast they can continually win at the death.

"We've had plenty of close games, but I think that's a good position to be in (closing in on finals)," Murphy said.

"We're learning how to win those games and not dropping those tight ones. We know we can stay right through to that final whistle and grind out those games.

"It's not how you want it to be every week, but being in those tight positions will help us at the back end."

In a good position to play finals should they win at least two of their three remaining fixtures, the Titans are hoping to tame the Tigers in their inaugural clash at Cbus Super Stadium on Sunday - a team that are clear underdogs due to injury, but that makes them even more dangerous according to Murphy.

"They got nothing to lose and they'll be fighting for their season, so this is a real danger game," she said.

"Every team we face and with this competition, we've seen there's upsets every week, so it'll definitely be no different with the Tigers this weekend."

Has Zara Canfield got money on the tigers? Shes single handedly keeping them in this game

    - - - Updated - - -

    Again completing poorly at 63%

Also on the wrong end of a 7-1 penalty count

Good stuff Sienna, Feel she's been good and had no help from her second rower running lines for her, Been impressed with all the 18 year olds tbh, Chantay has some class to her just needs more time to develop and Destiny has been really solid and all effort besides the stuffed try last week. Love our front row rotation with the impact from Hancock.. Mato is a freak.

Did these girls even train without Taliah? Also agree on Canfield, Haven't been to impressed, Wouldn't mind seeing Maketino get a crack or Sua who has the size to handle it now and some serious playmaking skills. A wins a win and our defence and efforts are great, just no harmony on attack which will come back to bite us in the finals.

We have really missed Fui but I feel we have also really suffered not having Chapman much. She is such a massive presence and takes so much pressure off the players around her.
Mato has been massive and Jes Elliston has really stepped up this year also.
Hopefully we get our best team on the park soon.
