I think AJ should be captain for us to win he has to be the one with the ball in his hands the most he seemed to enjoy the extra responsibility on the weekend

Very surprised by the criticisms of Tino's captaincy. I know we won without him but I'm certain we would have won with him too. Not sure anyone else in the team is more of a leader on or off the field than Tino in our team imo.

Yeah, I think there's a bit of a warped view on here of what a captain needs to be. It's not homogenous from team to team.

Tino is absolutely a leader. Leadership comes in many forms.

AJ did a great job and played extremely well but there's no reason AJ can't play like that without the captaincy next to his name.

Just my opinion but for me the captaincy is as much about off the field, the standards they set, and the accountability they hold upon themselves and their teammates. We see 80 minutes a week. The playing squad, coaching staff, and everyone else involved in that decision making see these guys day in day out. They've identified who is the leader amongst the group and I think Tino's on-field efforts support that too (almost too much...share the load a bit big fella).

Agree 100 per cent. AJ needs to get the ball in hands as much as possible but that is the role he needs to play in the team. AJ does not to be captain to do that.

There are many leaders in the team but you do not need to be captain to be a leader.

Tino has shown great qualities as captain and a leader but the disappointing results are not the fault of Tino as captain.

It's precisely for that reason why some clubs in the past had a Club Captain and on on field Captain. Not necessarily the same person. Tino has great qualities but he is too quiet on field for me.

There seems to be some varying opinions and confusion between the roles of a captain and a playmaker … they are not synonymous. AJ as a playmaker needs to be that person every week with or without the (c). Tino is definitely our captain but needs to learn to delegate.

Yea I still love Tino as captain AJ just needs to play like that every week. Perfect opportunity to back it up against the dragons
