    JOSEPH MANU

A couple of months ago, Manu’s name was everywhere. His blistering form and the fact he comes off contract in 2022 got tongues wagging.

The Warriors have been open with their plans to table a lucrative offer to the Roosters star, while the Titans are also reportedly interested in using Ash Taylor’s almost $1 million salary on him.

Just to make things extra spicy, All Blacks coach Ian Foster gave the 25-year-old a little nudge to make the switch to rugby union, saying “we are pretty keen to talk” if Manu is open to a code hop.

After all, the New Zealand Test star has said in a past interview that his childhood dream was to play for the All Blacks.

No doubt the Roosters are working hard on a new deal to keep the versatile Manu at the club, but they may not be able to match the huge offers set to come his way.

Manu is such a great player but I don’t see where he fits in our team. With Brimson a makeshift half and Campbell at fullback. At that sort of money I don’t think he could sit in the centre’s. Maybe Brimson to centre and manu into five eight.

Love Manu but he’s not what we need and especially not at that price tag

If true, I could only see this as us trying to drive the price up so they don't have enough cash for bsmith.

Manu is an amazing player, I just don't see where he fits in this team

Easts Tigers Colts front rower Jordan Penquitt has signed a train and trial contract with the Titans for the upcoming pre-season.

He has only played one season of rugby league after coming up through the GPS school boy rugby competition with Ipswich Grammar School.

He is Colts eligible again in 2023.

I don't mate, Jamie McCormack has done an exceptional job in developing these young men and over the last couple of years we have kept all of our juniors in front of numerous offers and I can not see that situation changing with Jamie McCormack continuing as head of the JTS program.

I’ll state the obvious: let’s hope Jamie McCormack isn’t a target.
Four reasons to escape to Queensland: Sun, Surf, Sand & the Titans.

I am glad that we have everyone except Tino locked up. Great foresight by our administration. With the Dolphins' increased start-up cap I can see some players going for way above their normal market value, if not to the Dolphins then to their current teams who are forced to compete in an inflated market. Eels are about to get bent over as I can't see them keeping more than 1 of RCG, Mahoney, Niukore, and Papali'i.

Ponga apparently going to be offered 1.4 m/year by Big Head Bennett but it's contingent on the Knights winning the premiership in 2022 due to clauses in his contract.

I also wonder what effect the vaccine mandates will have on the player market. Asofa-Solomona already looking like he will be stood down. Luke Thompson at the Bulldogs also doesn't want to be coerced. I suspect that those two are just the tip of the iceberg.
