Anyone think Connor Tracey would like a new club with the 7 on his back?

@T0ken I don’t yet rate Lofi over Jojo who hasn’t done anything wrong

Klese Haas into the top 30 for remainder of the year making him eligible for selection.

That website announcement says that he’s taken the final top 30 roster spot so it’s safe to assume they’ve opted to promote development contracts to fill out the rest for this season. We’ll know how all the pieces have fallen once it’s all updated on nrl.com.

Verrills would be a great signing. We just have to hope we can keep him on the field and away from the treatment table.

Yep Verrills would be a very good pickup if they get it done. He's a better option than anyone off-contract, still has his best football in front of him, and wouldn't cost marquee money (which means we can allocate that elsewhere).

I've got some concerns about signing young Sydney players as they tend to struggle with relocating long-term and come with a premium to do so, but what other options do we really have in such a scarce quality hooker market.

I'll wait until this one gets announced before getting too excited because I'd imagine Verrills is a player that a few clubs in Sydney would be having a crack at as well.

Yeah I've changed my mind on Verrills. Yes he does seem to be a bit injury prone but I'm willing to take the punt given the situation we're in.

I'd take verrills no questions asked. I'd prefer starling but verills is a decent signing. Booth/verills with foran and whoever at six is looking a lot more solid.

The probable recruitment of Verrills is a positive and strengthens an important spine position. However, in my view, there is only one question to be asked of Coach Holbrook with respect to 2023 season…….ARE YOU WILLING TO BACK YOUR JOB AND COACHING CAREER ON THE SUCCESS OF TOBY SEXTON?? He is the weak link in the chain and while it can be argued that he has played behind a beaten pack many times this season, it is unquestioned that he is slow, robotic and less than a threat to the opposition ( excepting for attacking kicks). It doesn’t matter what we do with hooker and No.6, if the 7 is not up to it, we will not climb out of the hole. Personally, I hope Shallin Fuller has a big pre-season.

I would assume that Sexton gets the job again next year with the addition of Foran to "take the pressure off". I'd like to see a specialist halfs coach be employed instead of some of the dead wood that lingers around the club drawing a wage. Verrills will be good, guess that means JC gets the back spot and AJ gets shoehorned into another position in centre as suggested a couple of times.

Verrills is the absolute sort of signing we should be making. I rate him on of the best remaining hookers on the market and if he can stay healthy will instantly improve us. These are the sort of signings we should be making.

Dont we already have Brad Davis as a halves coach, plus presto and Holbrook as halves. Holbrook should be sacked purely for going into the season thinking Sexton is the only halfback we need and thinking Aj would be a good foil for him when he can't even kick so it leaves all the long kicking to a slow rookie halfback playing behind a forward Pack that struggles to make more than 30 metres a set. Verrils would be nice but I'm not getting my hopes up till he's signed, read the dragons are after him too and he is a Sydney boy with a tight nit family

Our forward pack was our best feature coming into this season. Spine was iffy and outside backs we were blessed with options. If this is what a current halfs coach has produced then perhaps he is someone else that may need to find work else where.

Too bloody right JB and it’s difficult to make a silk purse out of a hogs snout or similar.
