Feeling your pain DH ... I copped it resoundingly from all corners of the globe and dreaded waking up this morning because those that missed me last night, because they were too joyous, got into me this morning ... thank heavens there is only a couple of weeks to the next game.

You're right Oz, ever since he started this year he has been hit and miss and those defensive lapses were apparent when he was with the Storm but covered by the superior work ethic from his teammates. Fifita can defend but not so wide. He is not a de facto centre and should have a game plan worked around his unique set of skills ... the modern game should really suit him not the old block pay and structure. MoFO was truly awesome, did he miss any or drop anything?

And Turbo really is the player of 2021. Teddy, Lav Mitchell, Luai, To'o and Cleary can certainly play but not at his level. We have none to match any of those at the moment except with passion ... best thing was watching the silencing of the freakin' foxx.

I think the Maroons are a red hot chance here with AJ and Ponga coming back.

And the Blues losing their 6 and 7.

Exciting to see it at Newie. Should be a regular thing IMO.

Gone are the days when coaches could just turn up, have a few beers and stick it to the Blues ... Green has a mountain of work to do just to keep his job. The Hammer worries me a lot.

You maybe without Jai Arrow… Just out about an hour ago about him breaking bubble rules.. A bit early to get the full story.

Yup… $35,000 fine and missing the 3rd Origin and a Rabbits game. Smuggled a Sheila back to his hotel room..

Also has to quarantine for 14 days.

Thank god he isn't a Titan but the headline will still probably "Former Titan...."

Huge news. Terrible timing in addition.

I wonder why the move? Was convinced they'd just play it in Newcastle. Not that I'm complaining of course.

NSW government said no big events anywhere. They're struggling containing covid Australia style.

High hopes that Origin III could surpass 27, 227 Cbus attendance record set in 2009
    https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au/

A decade-long attendance record dating back to the Titans and Broncos’ first NRL finals meeting could be broken on Wednesday night when Cbus Super Stadium hosts State of Origin.

IT HAS been more than a decade since Cbus Super Stadium welcomed in excess of 27,000 fans through its turnstiles and an impromptu State of Origin could be just the ticket to making history.

Only three times in the Robina venue’s 13-year history has it eclipsed that mark, most recently on September 10, 2010 when the Titans defeated the Warriors 28-16 in front of 27,026 fans during week one of the finals.

The largest-ever crowd stands at 27, 227 for the Titans’ elimination final against the Broncos in 2009, beating out the previous mark of 27, 176 set by the same two teams the previous year.

Titans prop Jarrod Wallace was there in 2018 for Jonathan Thurston’s last-ever NRL game, which drew a crowd of 26, 681 to rank sixth all-time at the venue.

He believes the first State of Origin to be held on the Gold Coast has the potential to break the attendance record set by the Titans and Broncos in 2009 and possibly push the 27, 690 seat capacity.

“I definitely think it’s a high possibility and high chance, being an Origin,” said Wallace, who has six Queensland caps to his name.

“We’ve had some great crowds in the past – JT’s last-ever game and when Jarryd Hayne first came back (come to mind).

“We’ve got a photo on the wall of JT’s last game and it looks close (to capacity).”

“If we can’t pack it out for Origin we’ll never pack it out,” he said.

“It’s an opportunity for all Gold Coasters to get behind, support Queensland … get along to what’s probably going to be a once in a lifetime (opportunity).”

Titans general manager of football and four-time Blues representative Anthony Laffranchi agreed.

    “There’s genuine excitement,” he said.

“Fingers crossed it sells out. It would be good for Origin but especially the Gold Coast.”
