Ive never seen a player get himself out of position in defence more since the great Wil Zillman. Automatically 3 on 2 everytime they shift the ball to his side.

Don't like the chances of that happening mate. I'd say Marsters comes in for Fermor who goes to the bench with Clark dropping out

Looks like Tanah Boyd is set to play given he posted an Instagram post with the caption “can’t wait to get out there with the brothers tomorrow night”

NRL.com Preview: Wests Tigers v Titans: Mbye to start; Tanah in for Taylor
    https://www.titans.com.au/news/2021/...in-for-taylor/

The Wests Tigers return to Campbelltown Sports Stadium for the first time since round two, coming off a morale-boosting win in Wollongong against the Dragons.

Coach Michael Maguire has tasked his side with matching that sort of effort week-to-week and they can expect a physical clash against a Titans side stinging from a last-up loss to the Broncos.

Justin Holbrook's men gave up a 22-0 lead to be run down at Suncorp Stadium last Friday but will be happy to travel to Campbelltown - a venue where they have won on their past two visits in 2017 and 2016.

They have conceded 112 points in their past three games and are staring down the barrel of a fourth straight loss if they can't fix up those defensive frailties.

Wests Tigers: With Tommy Talau out suspended, Moses Mbye has been named in the centres. Jacob Liddle is the new man on the interchange to cover for Mbye's elevation.

James Roberts (chest) will miss a few more weeks. Zac Cini enjoyed a fine debut on the wing and has retained his spot.

Tom Amone and Shawn Blore were omitted from the squad 24 hours before kick-off.

Winger David Nofoaluma has scored five tries in his past four games against the Titans.

Titans: Ash Taylor has been ruled out as he battles to return to full fitness after off-season hip surgery. Tanah Boyd will take his place in the starting side.

Tino Fa'asuamaleaui's return from a shoulder charge ban is a huge boost for a Titans pack that has been outmuscled in recent weeks. Moeaki Fotuaika drops back to the interchange bench.

With winger Corey Thompson set to miss at least eight weeks with a syndesmosis injury, Beau Fermor comes into the centres and Phillip Sami moves on to the wing.

Erin Clark was omitted from the squad on Friday with new signing Esan Marsters being promoted to the interchange bench. Jaimin Joliffe is on the interchange bench in place of Sam McIntyre.

The Titans have won six of their past eight games against the Tigers.

    Key match-up
Daine Laurie v AJ Brimson. In the talent-laden fullback position, this duo are slowly working their way up the pecking order. Their elusive running styles ensure opponents always have something to worry about.

    Stat attack
The Titans have conceded 112 points in their last three matches. In their first five they allowed just 79. Until they can get their defence in order, talk of finals football will remain on the backburner.

Coach's Last Word: Boyd ready for half chance
    https://www.titans.com.au/news/2021/...r-half-chance/

Titans Coach Justin Holbrook says Tanah Boyd will slot straight into the team without disruption, with the young half to replace Ash Taylor in the side for the round nine match against Wests Tigers.

"He's (Boyd) looking forward to playing that's for sure," Holbrook said.

"He's an energetic guy that loves his footy so he will do a good job for us.

"He's already played two games for us in the halves and he has had another full pre-season there and he'll do the job for us.

Holbrook says Taylor will take a week off as he rests his body.

"He's still battling with his hips and he couldn't get through training properly the other day so he's got to get himself right.

"When he is at our best we are a better team but at the minute he has been battling through."

Jayden Campbell will have to wait another week for a potential NRL debut, with the youngster to make the trip to Sydney in the extended squad.

"He came into the 21 as I thought AJ (Brimson) might have been struggling, but he has gone through the week really good and is completely fine."

Tino Fa'asuamaleaui returns to the Titans side after two weeks off due to suspension, with Holbrook saying he is a big inclusion.

"Fantastic, it's just the presence he brings and the competitiveness he has in him.

"The minute he came to training I was like mate slow down, calm down so I just knew what I was going to get from him.

"He's fantastic for us and will be a huge lift for our team.

"For a young guy, he has just turned 21, he sets some unbelievable standards not just for himself but for everyone around him."

After leaking points over the last few weeks, the Titans coach says it is a simple focus ahead of the Tigers clash.

    "Defending together," Holbrook said.

"I said after the game (against the Broncos), I thought we attacked as a team and defended by ourselves and we made reckless decisions individually and made it too hard on ourselves so we've got to fix that up."
