Veteran Benji Marshall to match Kiwi record for premiership appearances

South Sydney veteran Benji Marshall is poised to match the record for NRL first-grade games by a Kiwi, when he takes the field against Gold Coast Titans on Friday.

Marshall, 36, has been named on the Rabbitohs interchange bench for their visit to Queensland and will make his 331st appearance, equalling the mark currently held by former Wests Tigers teammate Adam Blair.

The utility made his NRL debut with Wests against Newcastle Knights in 2003, and has notched up games with the Tigers (257), St George Dragons (54), Brisbane Broncos (13) and Souths (6) over an 19-year career, scoring 94 tries and 1222 points.

Benji could have potentially joined Smith in the 400 Club except for his ridiculous foray into Rugby Yawnion. Hope he trips over his feet today. After last week I have no idea what to expect but one way or another I'm sure it will be intriguing.

If we can be fired up after last week's performance and atleast make this a close competitive game like the tigers did last week then it shows we don't deserve to be in the 8, another horrible performances from our halves then changes surely have to happen

I hope so too! Due to the time difference with HK, I'm heading home now, it's 4pm. So I don't want to half watch it on the bus. So I'll watch it as soon as I get home. I'll check in with everyone after the game. Let's hope everyone's hope gets rewarded.
