Default Titans 2021 NRL Fantasy guide

Arguably the most exciting team in the league heading into the new season, Gold Coast have pulled off some coups in the transfer market.

They now have a star-studded pack to complement some very talented playmakers in the backline. Is it time to load up on Titans in your Fantasy team?

    Players to watch

    AJ Brimson

Brimson was a revelation when he returned from injury midway through last season, racking up 51 Fantasy points a game at fullback – a 20-point increase on the previous year when he spent some time in the halves or coming off the bench. He was sensational in attack, with seven tries and a stunning 13 line breaks in just nine matches.

That puts him among the top echelon of Fantasy fullbacks, behind only James Tedesco and Kalyn Ponga. He gets a very slight discount this year and if you expect his red-hot form to continue he could be a set-and-forget WFB option from round one.

    David Fifita

The biggest signing of the Titans' recent spending spree, Fifita is already a superstar at the age of 20 and was a standout for the struggling Broncos last year. He averaged a tick under 58 Fantasy points when playing the full 80 minutes on an edge, averaging 135 metres and five-and-a-half tackle busts per game.

An injury-affected final game against the Eels means he'll have a break even in the low 50s so he looks a good value keeper if he can maintain his scoring rate at his new club.

    Tino Fa'asuamaleaui

Another star recruit for the Titans, Fa'asuamaleaui played his way into a Maroons jersey in his final year at the Storm and looks set for a larger role at his new club. He split his time between lock and the bench at Melbourne, averaging 43 points per game across the season but 53 in games when he played at least 50 minutes.

He's likely to get plenty of game time as a starter in the Gold Coast's star-studded pack so could be a great value keeper if he maintains last year's production.

    Moeaki Fotuaika

Fotuaika's Fantasy output has taken a leap in both the past couple of seasons – after scoring 28 points per game in his rookie year he averaged 40 in 2019 and 54 last year. It's hard to see that rate of improvement continuing (he's already among the top-scoring props in the game) so at this point you're pretty much getting what you pay for.

There's also the slight chance Fotuaika spends some more time on the bench with Fa'asuamaleaui and Herman Ese'ese bolstering the middle rotation this year.

    Brian Kelly

A dangerous ball-running centre capable of busting tackles on getting over the tryline, even when the Titans have struggled as a team, Kelly could take a leap this year with the club now looking a real finals contender.

In fact, while he's priced based on last year's Fantasy average of 34.6 points a game, that average was weighed down by a few games on the wing, one off the bench and a couple of in-game injuries. When he played the full 80 minutes at centre last year he scored close to 42 points a game.

With more genuine strike weapons around him Kelly could get even more opportunities to finish close to the line and he could end up a cut-price keeper in 2021.
