What do you guys reckon Mo is worth?
What do you guys reckon Mo is worth?
$650k for me, local junior who has made good, would not set a good message for the team/community if he leaves.
I have no inside info but hard to see him leaving.
I know Mo recently bought a house in Crestmead which I thought as interesting in that he may be hedging his bets with the Drongoes up the road. I may be reading too much into it and there may be other reasons but I was surprised he did not purchase on the GC
I find it very odd he bought a house there, id be devastated if he left to the donkeys
I think anything more than 600k is fair, anything more and I think it starts to throw the balance of our roster out
Man I'll be so p1ssed off if all of this eventuates to Mo signing with the Broncos. I'd give him Peachey's coin honestly, I see much more future value in Mo and the only reason he's playing such low minutes atm is because he's nursing a few minor injuries. On the other hand, if Peachey left I couldn't give a single damn.
Another thought is maybe he sees guys like Fifita & Tino on big money and thinks he should be getting paid a similar amount to them? Isn't Tino on 750k Or is it a bit lower? I don't think I'd pay that much for Mo.
And then there's the conspiracy theory in me that says this rumoured Donkeys deal was already done some time ago behind the scenes but never announced....ugh, I don't like any of this at all.

Mo is worthy of a petition
Yeah GT I think unfortunately his manager will be using blokes like Tino & Haas, to try and justify a big salary.
I still think we'll retain him and there is no way he's signed with Brisbane yet, it's impossible. And his manager would be stupid to agree to terms with another club before testing the market properly with all clubs after November 1. As I see it, it's either he signs with us, or tests the market in a few months and then we see what happens. The latter is when we're in trouble.
The thing we've gotta keep in mind is it isn't as simply as coin in, coin out. There's re-signings, roster filling, and projected spend that they'll be working to as well.
My thoughts are that they've allocated $1mil in the roster in 2023 for a hooker and are trying to work the balance of the roster around that. That's why we've re-signed so many early so that we know what we're actually dealing with instead of trying to re-sign half the roster on the open market, and also compete for a top-tier hooker. If we can just focus on the latter it means less juggling and they can make a big money signing without as much collateral damage.

His family has always lived there haven't they?

Proctor's extension will have little to no impact on retaining Mo mate. They're extending him from 2023 when Proctor would already be off the books.
Oh wait, re my previous post, Proctor isn't signed for 2023 is he? So that's irrelevant right?
edit: yeah just saw your edit, that's good then.
I shudder when I think about offering Mo $600k and then remember that's what we paid for Shannon Boyd hahahaha
