I’m in the minority with respect to his ability but the way him and his mrs are carrying on has convinced me he’s not the right type of person we want in this team.

Have you seen this **** she’s recently posted on instagram? Suggesting that the team is letting Bryce down because they won’t unite to oppose the NRL’s stance and force their hand. Seriously.

Gold Coast backrower Bryce Cartwright has agreed to have the flu shot, following teammate Brian Kelly, reports The Sydney Morning Herald.

The Titans gave the pair until Thursday to have the jab, with Cartwright standing to lose $450,000 if he holds firm on his objection.

If the 24-year old refuses to take the shot, Gold Coast could terminate his contract.

It comes after former Titans star Mat Rogers sent a warning to the NRL world, fearing that his son’s autistic condition was a result of vaccination.

“That whole vaccination world just drives me insane,” he told Channel 9.

“I understand, I’ve got an autistic child, and I thought it might have been a vaccine.

“I have done that much research and there’s just no evidence of that. It’s just a doctor that came out and said some things a couple of years ago (and) he actually got struck off.

“To think that hundreds of thousands of people in the medical industry are all holding a secret and keeping the rest of us in the dark is just ridiculous.”
That’s a day old that one. I shared it this time yesterday.
The latest reporting is ch7 saying he won’t.

As for the subject of anti-vaxxer's. I usually don't have much of an opinion. Only thing I can add is I feel for the kids that are denied their infant/childhood inoculations. They're the only victims in this matter, and everyone else that cares enough seems to have a ****ty opinion.

As in regards to this years flu shot, i've already had it and got to go back for a booster shot in August. Bit like the footy players where they didn't have much say in the matter. As of May 1st, it's mandatory from a federal level that anyone that intends to enter a aged care facility, they must be vaccinated beforehand. Big deal..

Shame her instagram account is private.

I saw one of the antivaxxer moms who has frequented the comments pages of nearly all the Cartwright stories thanking the doctor that gave Kelly his shot today for injecting nothing but saline. Hahahaha, never let the truth get in the way of a good lie to protect your ideals.

    Dear Mr Bods,

Brian Kelly has received both the influenza vaccine and pneumococcal vaccinations and returned to training today in preparation for the NRL competition restart on 28 May.

Bryce Cartwright provided the Club with medical documentation seeking an exemption from the influenza vaccine protocol.

This was subsequently passed on to Queensland’s Chief Medical Officer Jeannette Young for review.

Dr Young has granted Cartwright an exemption based on medical grounds.

Cartwright is now eligible to return to training with the playing squad in preparation for the season restart.

What a ****ing joke of a government call. If you want to have your child unvaccinated then your child has to have had an anaphylactic reaction to a vaccine. Now they find some quack to pull this **** after the last two weeks of bull****. Sometimes I wonder why I bother with this game.

i think this is very strategic (avoiding more bad press and legal action).. someone at Titans HQ has called in a massive favour. I just hope in-turn he has to ride the pine and give a bloke like Keegan a starting spot. Someone who actually appreciates it.

Ahh well, I commend him for standing his ground. Might be worth his salt.

Though my sentiments remain the the same.

Do you think he will get named in our Round 3 team?

Not seeing anything strategic at all. Negative press was on the government and NRL. Legal action wasn't an option or he wouldn't have provided a cert or Kelly wouldn't have backflipped.

Edit. If anything the Broncos called in a favour to allow him to play for us.

I'm really confused over the whole thing. First it's should be a blanket nrl decision to have the flu shot or not. Even playing field...cut the crap...be fair. 2nd....medical grounds...how confused....allergic?. I'm just over all the crap...stop appeasing everyone, an issue was made....a law was made stick to it. Sorry guys I'm just over all the grey!.... it should be across the whole code or not. Equal. Why should qlders suffer or be protected. Rant over.

Strategic in that letting this circus continue both the team and government would loose regardless of the outcome. He obviously wasn't going to get the shot.... thus we cut him. Followed by the legal action against the club/government and the ongoing negative media attention. Now its sorted we can move on with the season thank god.

What a hideous joke. He's publicly claiming he's pro choice and his misses carrying on non stop about being anti vax. No mention of ever having any reaction if he's ever even had it at all. I cannot believe the government has given in so easily... seems to be a complete lie from Bryce's side

I don't want him anywhere near the club

With you completely. I can't stand blokes that come up with some scam excuse - one that wasn't so obvious for weeks.
He apparently had a medical reason - probably stress from the crap his missus was carrying on with. Nothing legit, that's for sure.
