Looks like raiders got Rapana back
Yep looks like Rapana is heading back to Canberra. If the quote was true (and not just a media ploy) that we are not even considering Rapana or especially Te'o than we must have rocks in our head. Te'o is exactly what we need in a tough, powerful backrower who busts his **** off. Yes he's not the animal he was when he left the NRL but he's still of a decent age to add some experience, talent and toughness in this team.
I was hoping it was just garbage the likes of Mal, Holbrook and Mitchell were spewing out about "I think we've got the talent in the squad at the moment to be successful so I don't think we need to go out and recruit" but I genuinely think they mean it...So many names we are linked to (Fifita, Te'o, Rapana, Flegler) which actually wouldn't be a bad fit but yet in the end we end up with reserve grade/average players.
I agree. I was more keen on Rapana as his NRL form is more current. I think I read someone from the club say that we were pretty right for wingers...like who. If Sami is our best winger, he is not in Rapana's class, in fact miles from it. And never will be.
Saying that, if I want to fence sit on this, we have 14 blokes off at the end of this season. We should have plenty of cash and allow the coach to adjust his side to what he wants. Some of those blokes will need to play out of their skin to be retained, and even then I'd tempted to let most go. Blokes that just lift in the last year of their contract are bludgers and should be cut.
Young T the Ex Storm Mormon kid has signed with us for the rest of the season

Don’t know much about him, be interesting if he gets a go over some of the other young guys coming through
Totally fine with Young joining us ... only thing is he played on the left for Storm and that’s not where we need him.
Four reasons to escape to Queensland: Sun, Surf, Sand & the Titans.
Yeah, can't complain about the YT signing. Anything out of the storm system is leaps and bounds ahead of our crop.
Would Beau Fermor be on track to get a crack on the 28th do we think?
I really hope we use this opportunity to blood some new combinations (YT Included). I fear it will be the exact same team list as the first two games.

I'd really like to see what beau fermor has got
Welcome to our cult. We need to have more religions represented. Hopefully someones God can get us on the right track.
They have only given him a train and trial contract at the moment so I'm not sure when he will be eligible to play this year. For me, it's sort of an odd signing because if he doesn't get a crack then he will probably go somewhere that will play him. I much would have preferred that we gave him a full contract.
He can play both sides and more importantly...fullback. We are light on for fullbacks. What would we do if Sami goes down first game back? YT could slip straight in...and maybe he will anyway, allowing Sami back to the wing.
In saying that...I can't help but think about how long it took Will Hoppa to get back playing good footy after his mission. I hope YT hits his straps more quickly.
I think the worrying thing for Young (I'm not going to be the first to have a crack at his surname) and everyone on the fringes is that there is no QCup or anything to give these guys a run. There'll be plenty of guys coming in the first grade cold. There was an article in the Tele Monday about setting up some games for guys on the edge. Four sides and the Tele had put names in them - looked good and they'd be good games to watch I reckon.
