Just announced on news that Mal and Co will meet with the board members tomorrow with their suggestion (Walters/Holbrook) only ones mentioned. Darryl Kelly apparently has said that if Walters wants the position then he has to contact them and make it known, as we won't, which we all know he is too arrogant to do. Holbrook come on down.

I agree with Sir Daryl. Walters problem is he wants it too easy. Only wants the Drongoes and misses out. He’s got a big opportunity to be with us but he’s got to show he wants it and have the balls to put himself out there.
So he can either make the phone call or fine he can blink again and miss out.
Bugger him if he won’t back himself.

Holbrook is my pick. All this about KW has done his brand damage. If he were to get the Titans gig KW would need a private PR firm to win over Titan faithful. Why would @GCTitans want a potential coach that bags them in his role with Fox and still wears Bronco Goggles

Going by the reputable consensus on here we should back ourselves for the sake of the club and I propose the ultimatum that we sign Holbrook as our indisputable first choice selection without delay or we’ll walk from the club as a collective. Maybe a bit tough but what will it take to push this hierarchy into an obvious winner.

Give it to Holbrook, he wants the job badly so he must believe he can turn it around. Whereas Walters doesn’t seem to want it and is just waiting for us to go to him (refusing to go through the interview process is disgraceful). I am on team Holbrook.

I’ll stick with Walters If and only if he’s contacted the club himself and backed himself

If the media reports are right and he’s once again got epic Kostanza like ice bath shrinkage then I’m in for Holbrook too

If Walters gets the gig it'll be the death knell of the Club, and Walters coaching career at the same time. I'm fairly confident he's well aware of that also.

It seems like the club wants walters, so going of past desicions they should know to do the opposite of what they think so Holbrook should be the coach

Article on Foxsports this morning with Gorden Tallis rubbishing Wayne Bennett's comments about offering to coach the Titans. Seems to think he was using us as a bargaining chip when negotiating with other clubs including Panthers, Tigers and Dragons. Also gave a nice burn on his claims about being the man to rebuild the Titans by pointing at what he did to Newcastle. Looks like Wayne still isn't thinking with his big head.

Gorden Tallis calls bull*** on Wayne Bennett’s Titans claims in scathing attack

Gorden Tallis has hit out at Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett for publicly admitting he offered to take over the Titans when he was at the Broncos.

The Courier Mail’s Peter Badel, revealed Bennett hired a player manager to formally approach the Titans about taking over in 2020.

Bennett, who joined the Rabbitohs after he was sacked by Brisbane revealed he was turned down by the Titans.

The Gold Coast are currently searching for a replacement to sacked coach Garth Brennan, with Kevin Walters and Justin Holbrook believed to be the final two in contention.

However Tallis, who is a volunteer consultant with the Gold Coast club, called bull*** on his former coach in a scathing attack on Sunday.

“I’m just sick and tired of people kicking sand in (the Titans’) face,” Tallis told Triple M.

“Wayne Bennett comes out and says they offered him a job, I should have called BS on that.

“When he said that he’d go work at the Titans, he told Penrith that he’d go work for them as well and he promised Gus (Phil Gould).

“He promised the Dragons that he’d probably go back there and I think he knocked on the Wests Tigers door as well.

“So you can’t take when Wayne comes to a club and says, ‘I’ll come to work for you’ - he uses them all as bargaining tools … and I thought that the article was pretty poor because it didn’t tell the whole truth on what Wayne Bennett does.”

Bennett was also linked to the Panthers job after reportedly reaching an agreement with Phil Gould before Ivan Cleary signed a five-year-deal.

The 69-year-old was also reportedly the preferred option to replace Cleary at the Tigers but turned down an approach from the club.

Tallis also took exception to Bennett’s claim that he ‘would have been able to rebuild that club’.

“To be quite honest and everybody says oh, Wayne Bennett should be coaching the Titans, but look what he did at Newcastle,” Tallis said.

“Wayne Bennett needs the players, he can’t go and rebuild a club and he knows that he can’t do that.”
