More importantly, if Hayne hadn't been here and shafted Henry then Bellamy could have been here by now. Henry's contract and Bellamy's last were both due to expire at the same time, I recall.

True, true. Hayne’s contract is like our Treaty of Versailles — all of our current drama can be traced directly back to him. What a cancerous human being.

Yep and I was laughed out of the forum for suggesting that we not sack Henry and go for Bellamy the year after... Damn you Hayne.

According to channel 7 news (Chris Garry) the shortlist is down to Walters, Griffin and Holbrook. O’Brien and Fitzgibbon yet to apply. Titans want to make a decision within next 2-3 weeks.

    Griffin > Holbrook > Walters

Nothing against Holbrook, but he isn't proven at nrl level which leaves me a bit shaky after Garth.

Griffin isn't ideal either but he has had some decent success and doesn't need to be friends with the players.

I do not believe for one second that anyone in our club is leaking info. This would be fake news.

Massive props to Toovey for sticking up for us on Controversy Corner tonight. Had that bumbling idiot Dean Richie basically suggesting we pack up and move to Redcliffe while Toovey stuck solid and defended us stating the Gold Coast has one of the largest growing populations in Oz, there's great talent here, great juniors and that it just needs to be nurtured.

After the top 5 capital cities we are 6th population wise, by a long way too i believe. They have screws loose to ever relocate this team before getting some success and seeing how the city reacts

As of the 2016 Census the Gold Coast / Tweed City have a population of 600 335. Throw in the other areas around those two cities there could up around that 750 K mark in population. The nearest to us is Canberra at 431 668 . According to the World population review GC population in 2035 will reach 820 000.

So with these numbers the NRL would not want to loose this market at all....

There's one more that needs to be moved along, and that's Hayne's wingman when the Henry/Hayne stuff went down.

    Enough of his rot.

    walkers will be bridesmaids.

    holbrook no 1 choice

griffin 2nd (to develop juniors while we throw all money at the great bellamy)

to all those that poo poo the bellamy talk. i have it from a nrl affiliated employee that cameron runs the storm interchange as much as bellamy does, cam is readying himself for life post football and i reckon he will interview and go into coaching the storm as straight up HC or a years "apprenticeship" with bellamy. then belly is free to return to his home state where he has big family ties in the SEQ region.

Anyone know if we have interviewed anyone yet or when the interview process starts?

Can't see why they would put the Walkers on the list of people to interview.

Hopefully it is not a stuff up like last time where we interview a number of people including Michael McGuire and they were planning to go with the Walkers or one other nobody. Then they get overrode by the current owners to pick Brennan who was never interviewed at all. What a shambles that process was and how the hell did the group picking the coach overlook McGuire and planned to go with the Walkers. We can't afford to have these type of stuff up's this time.

Ever been in an interview and they ask you about remuneration.....McGuire probably wanted twice what our budget was.
