The NRL Physio says that usually after surgery, these type of injuries are approximately 3-5 months to return to play. With only 4 months left until round 1, I'd say AJ is a chance of missing the start of the season once again sadly.

And he doesn’t get to have a proper pre season on top of that. It’s potentially very bad news for us. Be good if the club gave a further update.

As bad as it sounds mate I thought Thompson filled in well for AJ.

Link that HS posted last week has a quote from AJ saying surgery or not he's confident for rd 1 next year. No point worrying if the sky is falling yet.

Lisfranc injuries can take their toll, with some studies showing up to a 20% reduction in performance in a athlete’s first year back from Lisfranc surgery.
Overall a complex injury that is one of the more challenging to recover from.

Well that is a bit of a downer. Hopefully he recovers fully before playing as they are apparently a real PITA to get right again.
So glad we signed Thompson as he is a ready made fill in, I know he doesn't give us what AJ does be he is streets ahead of anyone else in the team at the back.

C’mon lads ... let’s go the glass half full route ... all the best to the kid and I’m sure our club will provide the necessary support.

    Source Titans Website.

Titans co-captain Jamal Fogarty is a strong chance of returning for Sunday's game against the Bulldogs, with his finger injury recovering nicely.

Gold Coast High Performance Manager Klint Hoare says he expects the half-back to be available for selection after missing last weeks win against the Dragons.

"Jamal continues to progress nicely from his compound dislocation with no infection occurring," Hoare said.

"The aim is to integrate him into skills throughout week and we will look at incorporating contact work at the back end of the week which will determine his availability."

Brian Kelly is also expected to be fit to play, with the centre's ankle injury to be managed this week.

"Brian suffered a lateral ankle ligament strain but he will be available for selection for the Bulldogs game this weekend," Hoare said.

"We'll modify some of his training leading into game day."

Erin Clark is another that could return this week, with Hoare confirming that the hooker is recovering well from his elbow injury and could come back into the selection mix.

Phillip Sami is one player who won't line up against the Bulldogs as he continues to recover from an ankle complaint.

"Phil will commence his rehab return to play running program this week," Hoare said.

"The aim is to introduce him back into light skills next week.

"We are currently increasing the range of the ankle joint and strengthening within the gym while we are also increasing proprioception balance – awareness of the position and movement of his body in relation to foot plant.

"Jayden Campbell is in a similar scenario to Phil and will commence his return to run program at the back end of the week."

2022 signing Paul Turner has joined the Titans rehab group as he continues to work to be ready for pre-season training.

"Paul has come into the Titans bubble and he will commence his rehab running program this week," Hoare said.

"He is now 12 weeks post his shoulder posterior labral stabilisation operation.

"The physio team of Sam Madden and Lindsey Self will work extensively with Paul in these early stages of rehab and the goal will be to have Paul available for full pre-season training."

Why did I read this as bad news? Didn't realise JC was injured.

I might be out for the rest of the season due to a migraine from the selections of Holbrook

The Titans will be without two key forwards for their Sunday night showdown against the Eels with both Jaimin Jolliffe and Joe Stimson ruled out due to injury.

Jolliffe sustained a fractured hand in the Gold Coast's Round 19 clash, playing on through the pain in a herculean effort to make 130 metres over 13 runs, as well as an inspirational 51 tackles over 59 minutes.

The ever-reliable prop will have surgery on Wednesday and is expected to miss the next four weeks as he recovers.

Stimson suffered a Category 1 concussion in the contest and is now subjected to a mandatory 11-day stand down after failing his head injury assessment in the 45th minute. He is expected to return in Round 21 against the Roosters.

Iszac Fa'asuamaleaui passed his on-field assessment after leaving the field to be tested in the 29th minute, but will be subjected to the NRL's return to play policy before he is cleared to take part in this weekend's fixture.
