On the Moles scoops Herman Ese’ese is on the outer at the Knights. He could be a good player for us.

There is a lot of discussion about this on the Manly sites. Apparently Parra offered $500k a year but he wants $700k. This could be just BS internet talk but let's assume it is right. Would you pay $700k a season for him? I wouldn't.

I don't mind that idea. If we paid $700k and let Ash go we would be in front by $300k a year, assuming we didn't have to top up Ash's contract at another club.

i would like Gutho, but i wonder if we dont have our own similar player in AJ - energy, fitness, x factor, never stops moving or getting involved.

I dont know if two of them together would work, but i do think highly of Gutho.

It's amazing how well players in a contract year play.

I’m not into bringing non Gold Coasters up here. They don’t buy in fully. Keep looking for Northern NSW/SE Qld fellows with a “go home” factor in their souls.
Admittedly Cokey The Clown is one of those and he’s been such a disappointment.

Gutho is a fantastic player but we do not need him. AJ will most likely be the better player in the long run and he's got that fullback role well and truely locked up from next year onwards. Also think 700k+ per season is slightly overs for a guy who's only just started playing well again and has had more than a couple ACL surgeries and general injuries. Good player but pass.

I actually think that is part of the problem. Are we a QLD team or a northern NSW team. Broncos and cows are purely QLD teams and the public wear that with a badge of honour. But we are on the border and therefore our identity is mixed. It has always made me think about being able to create a clear identity. I think that is what big mal is trying to achieve.

Dools you have a rich nursery there on the Tweed and Northern Rivers. People on the Tweed are a shortish Drive from Robina.
You can’t go sticking your middle finger up and antagonistic towards them because of an abstract construction like a State Border.

I'm not bodsie, I'm merely pointing out that we are in a unique situation unlike any other club. We share states unlike every other team.
