Point taken. I always thought Rein was border line origin selection because he used to play city/origin back in his day. I thought he got dropped due to Mary and he having issues. I like Rein, thought he was hard done by at both the Dragons and the Panthers and think he gives his all for the Titans, especially when Peats was out with the pec injury. Has he improved? Meh.

Peats came to us in June from memory. Had a point to prove, got his origin spot, did well, then Cook deserved it moreso ten fold.

I'll say this as a broad coverall statement that can be picked apart as y'all please. Anyone that signs a long term contract with the Titans goes backwards after.

I'll say it again, give me an NFL style 53 man roster whereby if you make one mistake on the field, you may be dropped to the reserves and earning a bottom dollar, or even traded, rather than playing NFL and earning the upper limits of your contract. Keeps them hungry and scared. Good mix.

No didn't take it as an attack at all. It was a statement full of holes. Probably more of a case that I'm trying to make evidence fit a case. Be thankful I'm not a cop.

I think we have to put 9’s into perspective ... Cook after being ignored has turned into a once in a generation hooker ... with the exception of Smith and his clone there is daylight to the rest. Our problems aren’t so much there as the lack of leadership, dominant half’s, genuine pace and plodding forwards.
Four reasons to escape to Queensland: Sun, Surf, Sand & the Titans.

Couldn't have said it better Titanic. To be a successful team you have to have all four of those things and presently I don't think we have one.

The Gold Coast Titans can today confirm the signing of Sam Stone from the Newcastle Knights, effective immediately.

Stone joins the club on an 18-month contract, through until the end of season 2020.

The 21-year-old was born on the Gold Coast but played his junior rugby league at the Valentine Devils and Lakes United in the Newcastle competition.

The edge back-rower burst on to the scene in season 2017. After coming through the NYC ranks at the Knights, Stone made his debut in Round 1 before going on to play 16 games that season.

Stone added a further two games in season 2018 to take his NRL career games tally to 18.

Titans coach Garth Brennan is happy another Gold Coast product is choosing to come home to continue his NRL career.

“While having spent a lot of his life in Newcastle, Sam was born on the Gold Coast and is coming ‘home’ in pursuit of a greater opportunity,” Brennan said.

“We have rotated a number of players through that back row position, and to bolster our squad with a specialist in that spot will only add depth to our squad.

“Sam has played NRL and knows what it takes to play at that level. I look forward to him joining the squad and working with him.”

Just got an email that we’ve signed Sam Stone from the Knights. Backrower which is good but haven’t really hear his name in the last year or two. Deal is until end of 2020.

Beat me to it JB. Not sure how I feel about the signing, kind of wish we saved the cash to buy a Capewell/better more experienced second rower.

True to form we buy another nuffy. Better keeping our money and making a play for someone decent. Will this club ever learn. Same mistakes over and over.

If they're not from the Knights or Penrith they must be in stealth mode to our recruitment team.

Surely this isnt an upgrade on max king? Different position i get it, surely not much cheaper? What does this mean for kallum watkins? Was looking forward to seeing him play 2nd row.

I doubt Sam Stone gets a walk up start. He probably is Max's replacement 4 or 5th down the line to be ignored for close relatives and pipe cleaners.

It’s good he played a good amount of first grade at 19 but more than a tad worrying he’s played bugger all in 2018-19
