I’d have given anything to have played footy for my local team. That’s the mentality I grew up having. So my answer is an emphatic yes.
I don’t have any shame in being GC. That’s the mentality and culture I want from other locals too.

Well we better give back Brian Kelly, Jai Arrow and Jarrod Wallace because they didn’t want to play for us during parts of their career...sorry Bods I think that’s a silly thing to say. Plus who’s to say Titans didn’t reject him and not want him as a kid?

All 3 came back to us when their brain had fully developed as young men. The brain is not fully developed till you are early 20s, so I can live with that and we get the best of their careers.
Glenn has decided to give us a wave well past his prime now he’s staring at life post footy.

    That’ll do me

Just love how players get abused for breaking contracts and jumping from club to club yet they also get abused for being loyal and being one club players. They can’t win. As long as he’s playing good enough footy to be a first grader (which he is) and makes our team better (he does) than I don’t care about anything else. As long as he’s not on big coin which I doubt he will be because we don’t have the money to throw around big offers at the moment.

This is my last comment on Glenn. We have made approaches to him before, he’s had his go. That’s just me.

Might need to take your own advice there, Bods.

I lived on the Coast for the first 21 years of my life and intend to retire there. I’ve followed the Titans since our inception including our brief highs in the early years and the near decade of lows. I’m rusted on at this point. If I haven’t given up by now, I never will.

That said, I am capable of putting myself in someone else’s shoes. As far as I’m aware, Glenn was never part of the Titans system and was a Broncos junior from before the Titans even came into the comp. He has been loyal to the club that brought him through and I refuse to hold that against him.

I’ve said my bit. If he signs I’ll most certainly change my tune then.

PS-where are you situated currently Wilhelm??

The Mole reporting Koroisau free to explore options for next season: https://wwos.nine.com.au/nrl/the-mol...d-6865d716d8b8

Thoughts? Won a premiership with Souths and is only 26 years old. Has always been one of the best on the park anytime I've watched him. Plenty of zip out of dummy half but don't know if he still has it after all the injuries.

Also wtf @ Fa’asuamaleaui being offered >$1m/yr. That's a misprint, surely. $1m over 3 years would make a lot more sense.

We've got two hookers. I like Peats but I think playing with a team of players that don't turn up is taking it's toll on him. If he got told he could leave I think there would be some interest in him but for us to then go to the market to replace him puts us in a worse position.

I was thinking more about the suggestions of moving Rein on. I would also like to keep Peats as I think he will get back to his best under a good coach. However, he has never put together a full season and we need another first grade quality hooker in our squad. Koroisau would probably command more than Rein though so it may be a non-starter, especially since we would have to find a buyer for Rein.

Personally I'd be looking at a younger hooker who we can develop long term. I've already said it on the forum but we need a hooker with a kicking game. I view Koroisau to be very similar in playing style to Rein, although perhaps a tad more physical. Also on Peats, I'd also like him here to see out his contract. He was an important purchase when we got him and unfortunately he has been another victim of Brennan as far as I am concerned. The one thing I would say on Peats though is he desperately needs to work on his pass. If I was him I would be looking at hiring a specialist coach to refine this aspect of his play. I also follow union and when watching dummy halves passes compared to halfback passes in union - theres daylight between the quality of service in each code. There would be such a huge benefit of having crisp passes from the ruck, especially after quick play the balls and it is a part of he game that most coaches seem to gloss over. If anyone is interested just watch a few clips of Aaron Smith (the All Black) on youtube, you'll see what I mean. He effectively revolutionised the way halfbacks play. It may seem like a minor detail but it's definetely one of those 1 percenters that we need to do to become a consistent team.

Agree 100% on the service from dummy half and the need to very accurate and crisp passing. I take it one step further though. Most NRL half's and backs can only pass well on one side of their body. Watch the union guys and most of them pass well both sides and the best pass equally well on both sides. Watch Beauden Barrett in full fly or even Quade Cooper, it seems that league kids aren't drilled enough on the basics of passing at a young age.

On the signing front I would be after Maloney on a 2 year deal. Proven winner that will help the new coach pull players heads out of their a55es. He is still on top of his game and is virtually another coach on the field. Would help Taylor's game.

I don't watch Union often but have always been impressed with the standard of their passing and goalkicking. It's the same ball isn't it? Why the different standards? Does the higher pace of League change it that much? I gave this video a watch and those shots from behind of the passes in the gym from around the 2 min mark are a thing of beauty. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1040713509456375. I recall watching Peats in Origin a couple years back and he had these nice big looping passes out of dummy half that were landing right in front of the forwards as they ran onto it. He's obviously more than capable but doesn't do it at club level. What's the deal?

totally agree with the union assessment of the passes from the rucks and mauls, the speed and crispness of the passes is second to none. Peats lacks in this area with his timing and speed of his release.

No, not quite. Though the two balls are obviously very similar, they do have slightly different dimensions and overall shape (the balls used in league are slightly more pointed than the ones used in union): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Footba...Rugby_football

While I haven’t watched much union for the last couple of decades, having watched a reasonable amount of both codes live and on the tube over the years, I think it would be fair to say that the ball used in union flys slightly further through the air than the one used in league.
