Well that was a lovely try to end our season. Lovely.
Cut out ball from Ash. No look short pass to Don by Lee and Don returns it to Lee to score under the posts.

We got 27 seconds left. It isn't impossible.

Sad to see Thurston exit the field of our elite competition. Thanks for the memories and the victories (Especially Queensland and Australia based) He won't be lost to our game though.

Thurston farewells NRL in style as Cowboys come back to beat Titans
    https://www.nrl.com/

Johnathan Thurston has farewelled rugby league in grand style as the Cowboys overcame a 12-point half-time deficit to beat Gold Coast 30-26 at Cbus Super Stadium.

The great man's going away party looked like being a fizzer when the Titans grabbed two tries inside the first 15 minutes to AJ Brimson and Kane Elgey but the Cowboys steadied in the 35th minute when Shaun Fensom scored his first try for 2018.

Mitch Rein answered for the Titans just before half-time to give the home side an 18-6 lead at the break.

It took the Cowboys just four minutes to open the second-half scoring when Thurston kicked cross field, Kane Linnett and Gavin Cooper flew, the ball spilled to Gideon Gela-Mosby and he found Ben Hampton for a try.

Thurston's sideline conversion was a gem and the Cowboys trailed 18-12.

Ash Taylor added a penalty goal for the home side soon after to make it 20-12 but the Cowboys hit back when Hampton grabbed his second try in the 56th minute and Thurston converted to make it 20-18.

In the 70th minute the Cowboys hit the lead when Gavin Cooper created history by becoming the first forward to score a try in nine consecutive games.

Fittingly the try came off a cross kick by Thurston, who has laid on countless tries for the classy back-rower over the years.

An intercept try to a flying Gela-Mosby then put the icing on a memorable night for Thurston and his teammates and the 26,681 fans who packed in to Cbus Super Stadium to see one of game's all-time greats take his final bow.

There was one more highlight for the hosts with a consolation try to Brenko Lee but the Cowboys held on to give their champion playmaker a fitting farewell.

We’ve been competitive the last four games. Pretty happy with the effort to be honest. Ryan James was immense tonight.

That was a great game and we sat in Bay 21 amongst the Cows supporters ... enjoyed the spectacle immensely ... sorry to see Elgey go but looking forward to next season.
Four reasons to escape to Queensland: Sun, Surf, Sand & the Titans.

Hopefully Brennan will not persist with Peats and Rein on the field at the same time next year. Good players in their own right but you cannot have 2 midgets on the field in the middle at the same time and expect to compete against the other big forwards packs.

I'm certainly happy with the last several games. We are building and have genuine hope. (Actually haven't seen the Panthers game yet)

definitely building towards something enjoyed the night and proud of our club for making it an occasion for JT - putting the game a champion above rivalries for the sake of the greater good.

    We did good.

i think the announcer should have announced the 7th minute thing as no one cheered until AJ scored, which was basically the start of the 8th minute.
