Improved effort from Manly who copped a caning from Paul Simpkins and the 50-50 calls just didn't go their way last night.

The Cowboys weren't as 'hot' as round one and that was due to some dogged Manly defense when on their line which would have me as a fan brimming ear to ear. The score could of and perhaps should of been higher last night but Manly hung tough when it mattered.

I think Manly are another few rounds away from hitting some form, it still looks as if Orford's outside men are having some trouble reading his game - has to be expected, he is an individual type player in the Langer mould and is unpredictable.

Manly had a GREAT chance to steal this game in the last minute and a more accurate kick from Orford to his winger would of put the game to 20-20 with a kick to come. I have not watched the replay though I am certain the better option from Orford was to put it through the hands.

Another scrappy game last night, but improved effort from Manly.

I think Manly brought the cowboys back to earth a little last night, after their thrashing of the broncos last week. Scrappy game but Manly shouldn't be too disappointed in how they performed. Some of the 50-50 calls in ALL of last nights games were shocking, and a lot of the forward passes in the eels-warriors game were so blatant it wasn't funny, and the wern't pulled up. I spose teams and refs are still knocking some of the rust out of the system, lets hope the above situations are still not happening in round 10.
