Also gives us a bit of a buffer. And leaves Logan and Ipswich for now.

We used to have an big, visible fanbase in Logan. Maybe we will see that return.

    Totally in agreement
Having Redcliffe in would cause us the least encroachment and I think strategically is best for the game as it gives the Sunshine Coast and Northern Brisbane a team to support.

We will take care of the South

An extra team in SE QLD is inevitable. This is the bid we should support.

Wayne Bennett gives a pretty comprehensive endorsement of the Dolphins for the NRL.

Strong mail for second Brisbane team with Wayne Bennett coach.

    BACK TO BRISBANE FOR BENNETT
    https://www.couriermail.com.au/

The independent commission meets next month to further explore expansion opportunities. The mail is we’ll have a second Brisbane team for the 2023 season.

Old super coach Wayne Bennett will be the man in demand, whichever organisation gets the licence. The timing is perfect, with Bennett finishing at the Rabbitohs at the end of next season and handing over to Jason Demetriou.

It leaves him free in 2022 to sign players and set up the new franchise.

It also allows the new club 12 months to chase corporate support around having Bennett as the face of the club. It will be huge for Queensland rugby league.

Bennett would give them an opening with the media and corporate. Already set up the grudge factor with the Broncos. Bennett has been vocal for the Dolphins.

Fortunately the Titans seem to be on the up. It wouldn't be fun seeing a 4th QLD team appear when we were struggling. Hope our success continues.

    Might be a
bit early for them but the Sunshine Coast community has shown great support at all games this year. Maybe Redcliffe will take few games up the coast

I agree. I hope to see some games up there. It'd be a nice road trip up from Brissie. Just over one hour.

It makes sense to have a team north of Brisbane and south of Brisbane. Both can push in each compass direction.

Bombers must have a few mates at the Courier Mail to justify this sports cover.

But actually Bennett never mentions the Bombers but only any new Brisbane team. And the story only mentions the Bombers talking to a third party of Bennett.

While here is Bennett a couple months ago categorically banking the Dolphins bid. I uploaded it to YouTube for your viewing pleasure.
