Pleasing to see some former Titans and Gold Coast Juniors back. Also excited see young Zae Wallace getting an opportunity and still under 20 eligible.

Leary, massive pick up along side experienced Matt Robinson and former Titans NYC Francis Fifita, Josh Berkers and Jerome Veve. Some sound recruitment by the Bears. They should do well with the squad they have assembled and the players the Titans send back.

MDrew do you know much about Kaleb Fuimoano

Anyone know of Tweeds gains and losses?

Kaleb Fuimoano is an athletic young front rower mate originally from the Easts Tigers before heading up to North Queensland. May make an impact from the bench early for Burleigh.

Most of Tweed's new players are former Titans NYC mate such as Ethan Roberts etc, especially with Woolf taking over

That’s a pretty fair Burleigh side but not much for the Titans there.

Sunshine Coast Falcons v Burleigh Bears
    http://www.qrl.com.au

Sunshine Coast Stadium - Saturday, March 10 - 1.10pm* (Channel 9 TV game)

    Head-to-Head: Burleigh 12 Sunshine Coast 5

    Twitter: #IntrustSuperCup #SCFvBEARS

Sunshine Coast finished runner-up last season after leading Papua New Guinea until the final minute of the Intrust Super Cup grand final.

Burleigh won the last 2 games these sides contested at Sunshine Coast Stadium in 2013 and 2014.

However Sunshine Coast has won 9 of their last 10 home games.

Falcons winger Matt Soper-Lawler scored 17 tries last season and played in the Cameron Smith-Johnathan Thurston testimonial game.

Burleigh finished ninth last season in an injury-hit campaign but have signed 52-game NRL player Blake Leary from the North Queensland Cowboys.

    Late lapses leave Lenihan worried
    http://www.goldcoast.com.au

LEADING the Intrust Super Cup ladder is not enough.

Long-time Burleigh coach Jimmy Lenihan has demanded his undefeated side be better switched on after halftime if they are to continue their strong start to the season.

The Bears cast aside rivals Tweed Heads 32-12 at the weekend but for the second time in three starts, let their opposition back into the contest with a lapse after the break.

For a period at Piggabeen Sports Complex, Tweed threatened to overrun the Bears before losing momentum. Lenihan’s side also nearly gave up a 24-0 lead in their seasonopener against Sunshine Coast.

Five of the eight tries they have conceded in 2018 have come between the 41st and 60th minutes.

“Maybe starting after halftime is something that we have to really try to get a little bit better,” Lenihan said.

“We seem to forgo an early try in the second half quite regularly.”

Burleigh Bears hit with injury and suspension concerns ahead of Central Queensland Capras game
    https://www.goldcoastbulletin.com.au

BURLEIGH are bound for the first hurdle of what has been an unblemished start to their Intrust Super Cup season.

Jamal Fogarty is under an injury cloud after damaging his ankle during the Bears’ 40-28 win over Souths Logan on Saturday.

An initial scan has cleared the premiership-winning halfback of a break but the club are awaiting results of an MRI for further details.

The timing of Fogarty’s injury comes after former Panthers playmaker Harry Siejka headed back to Sydney, leaving fringe hooker Chris Law or rookie half Josh Rogers – himself racing the clock to recover from an ankle issue – as next in line.

Among those to fill in at No.6 or No.7 last year – Jacob Grant, Sam Grant (both Cudgen), Keanu Te Kiri (Tugun) and Daniel Schwass (refereeing) – have since departed.

In more bad news, Sami Sauiluma and Jamie Dowling were placed on report for shoulder charges.

Jai Whitbread will need to pass concussion tests to be passed fit to take on Central Queensland after being knocked out during the Magpies win.

Reinforcements are not far away though in the form of centre Justin Tavae and Titans prop Jack Stockwell, who are both on the comeback trail from injuries.

Gold Coast centre Brenko Lee made a positive return from a pre-season knee injury on Saturday.

Lee was shown up once by opposite centre Marion Seve but helped lay on two tries for his winger Tyronne Roberts-Davis.

The former Raider and Bulldog played left centre, shifting Sauiluma to the right wing.

Bears coach Jimmy Lenihan said Lee will be better for the run.

“I’m sure he’ll be ready to go if they (the Titans) need him on that left edge,” Lenihan said.
