Great player. Would be a very good pickup. Has a certain X Factor About him
Probably take this with a grain of salt but a few comments through reddit are saying titans are pushing to have him released early. Anyone heard anything more about it?
Backline of Gordon Don hurrel peachy Brenko would be pretty lethal. Not sure what his defence is like? Could also play second row I think
I hope all this Tyrone Peachey stuff is true, we could definitely use an instinctive player like him in our team.
Does everyone see him playing in the centres or second row?
Anyone know if he has spent anytime in 5/8 or fullback?
We are getting pretty stacked in the outside backs wouldn't mind someone like him being groomed as flashes replacement, and let AJ Brimson and Elgey duke it out for 5/8.
We certainly need class in our team and this bloke has it. He seems to have periods of time when he goes missing (you can't say walkabout these days can you) but when his mind is on the job he has the X factor as someone else said. I think he goes better when in the forwards but it's great that he can cover a few positions.
We have plenty of honest plodders in our squad but we need blokes that can win games with that bit of extra skill.
^^^ the consensus in the forum has generally been we need one more quality forward and one more quality outside back and this young man is both.
Prefer him in the centres as he knows his way to the try line with a bit of space to move.
Peachey would be an excellent pickup but id still rather him be a supersub type player. He can pretty much cover ever non spine position on the park so hed be good for replacing an injury but we all know hes too good a player to be stuck on the bench
The noise is getting louder about Peachey being a titan in 2018
Peachey would be awesome, a big reason i like watching Penrith.
Also from League Unlimited forum-
Penrith will rue letting Brennan go and re-signing Griffin.
Also reports of Merrin being shopped around. Can't Gould honour contracts.
(Merrin makes sense for us/him with Sally Fitz owning an apartment in Jewel, she def likes the GC)
Merrin and Sally are no longer together. But that's a whole nother story.....
Tyrone Peachey set to join Gold Coast from 2019
Penrith utility Tyrone Peachey is set to join the Gold Coast Titans on a three-year deal starting in 2019.
Despite being under contract until the end of the 2019 season, Peachey is set to walk out of the club 12 months early – or possibly sooner.
Channel 7 reporter Chris Garry broke the news on Twitter overnight following recent reports that the Gold Coast had ‘put down an offer that Penrith couldn’t match’.
Where Peachey would fit into the side is unknown, with the likes of Dale Copley, Brenko Lee and Konrad Hurrell all battling for centre spots, meaning a return to the forwards could be on the cards.
Peachey made the move from lock to the centres midway through 2016, scoring 10 tries in his final 16 games of the season.
However, last season saw inconsistency creep into Peachey’s game as centres Waqa Blake and Dean Whare breathed down his neck.
A move to the Gold Coast would see him reunite with former teammates Mitch Rein and Leilani Latu, as well as former reserve grade coach Garth Brennan.
Rumours have continued to circulate since Anthony Griffin’s arrival of Penrith of Peachey’s unrest at the foot of the mountains, which would even see the utility walk before the June 30 deadline.
Peachey’s exit comes as a massive blow to the Penrith outfit, coming just months after the exit of star junior and former captain Matt Moylan.
The Titans are expected to confirm the deal in coming weeks, as the Gold Coast outfit look to fill the hole in their salary cap left by Jarryd Hayne’s departure.
