I wouldn't be happy about LG leaving either. Although I am only a distant observer, he seems to be a quality person who with a better group outside him would shine. Maloney is one of the worst defenders in the game yet still flourishes. At the moment I follow a team that has little character and personality. Thats why Hipgrave stands out. LG seems to give his all and that sincerity will make him succeed. Taylor is under achieving at the moment also. But a team with Taylor, Brimson and LG can develop into a real force.

I hope Elgey stays, few that I can remember have showed his passion and faith in the club. We seem to always be held at ransom by our own players but he stayed for less money with an uncertain club future when he signed on last and deserves another shot.

If he was to go then Catalans are OK with me. Dave and Taneal are absolutely loving France. They spend a lot of time sightseeing over the border (Spain). I am sure Dave and Greg (alright...stretching it a bit there) will take him under their wing and look out for him.

I think Kane would stay for a bit less money than offered elsewhere. You tend to think though that the Super League clubs may be offering something substantial though.
There’s no doubt he would be a star over there.

And continue to play 2nd fiddle? I’m not so sure. I don’t know of too many players who are taking a pay cut these days. It would be crap to lose his talent but his defence is what is keeping him out. He just can’t tackle.

This. I too would hate to lose a potential talent like LG but lets be realistic. His defence has been godawful the last 2 years and is an out and out liability that teams were exploiting out wide. If we really want to be a competitor we need to be a team of strength not just unmet potential. This goes for a few other players on our roster as well

As sad as it would be to lose LG, I just don't see where he fits into the team. Big fan of him when he's on in attack but his defence just hasn't been first grade standard. Would love to see him stay and break back into the team, but hard to see Brimson losing the 6 jersey unless we find another quality 5/8. Especially when he has been at least making the 1 on 1 tackles and seems to be linking with Ash well. Unfortunately for LG he can't be the dominant half of this side either. Ash is our man, it's his team and he has the brighter future.

Maybe we could package Kane Elgey, Phillip Sami, Konrad Hurrell, maybe some other player and a couple 1st round draft picks and try and get Kawhi Leonard? would be perfect in the centres, 6'7" and plays both ends of the floor

Carwright played well in Qcup today. Got back to basics with run first, pass after contact. Few more weeks and we may see him playing that same role with a little more aggression. Brendon Elliott has to be close to a NRL return. I wouldnt be opposed to seeing him move into Dons spot on the wing. Prob the same speed of late. Elgey proving his a halfback not a 5/8. Love to see a game with Elgey at 7, Taylor at 6, Peats at 9 and Brimson at 1.

How was Carty in defence? At this point, his attack is the least of his worries and always has been.
