I reckon both Rogers and Lyon offer a lot in everything except time.

Would’ve loved to see: 1. Barba, 6. AJ, 7. Taylor, 9. Peats/Rein before Roberts was signed. Can’t help but feel Roberts signing is more about Taylor’s form slump than any utility he offers. Surly Rein is covering that position of the bench better just with less versatility
Barba is a risk that i wouldn't be totally against, but i think Peachey has some Barba elements and i don't know how you fit them both in.
I was only thinking of this the other day. Apparently Barba was all but a done deal to go back to Cronulla but they are stepping up to stop the cowboys from getting Valentine Holmes so I don't think they can fit Barba in anymore. Id be happy to take the punt on him. Would give us an explosive backline we have SORELY been lacking for so many years now
Hey guys,
Ive been stalking the forum for a couple of weeks, thought id get involved finally. Not sure if this has been discussed as yet but apparently Badel has reported that the Panthers are in discussions to offload Maloney to us for 2019. Probly take it with a grain of salt coming from Badel but interesting none the less..
Welcome and thanks for jumping into the fray.
that's a juicy first post - would be interesting to see Maloney here. I think i posted a couple of days ago - he would be good to get in for one year just to drop dirty nasty truth bombs to everyone. be a pain in every ones ass for one year, but leave some imprint on what it takes to WIN and be a WINNER.
although it would be ironic on account of him being the worst defender in the NRL by a stretch ( i think he has missed 144 tackles, and next worst is 90 - something )after letting LG go for his defence, although the argument is that Maloney makes up for it on the other side of the ball i suppose.
anyways, interesting discussion to be had about it perhaps
Welcome. I'd swap him for a couple of ex-Panthers.......but I think the timing of this after we just signed our back up half might be a little late. Strange that there would be any movement regarding players at the Panthers given they have no idea who their coach will be. Hopefully the Tigers are doing a number on them to try and bring Nathan over to their ranks and the Panthers are having to pay massive overs to retain him.
Appreciate the welcome guys!
I agree with what everyone has said regarding Maloney. It will be interesting to see how Tyrone May and Cleary combine over the next few weeks with Maloney out. The story could get a bit more traction if the Panthers finish strong with May at 6.
Welcome RE19, May and Cleary have great potential if May’s end of 2017 performances are any indication.

So with Garth all but confirming that AJ will be fullback next year, who is going to play 6 for us? Its interesting that we are chasing Ryley Jacks when I thought that he was more of a 7 - which gives us the same problem as we had with Kane.
I can't see why the Panthers would ever let Maloney go. Not only that but he's told the Panthers that he wants to finish his career in the UK which will be in 2020.
I'm leaning towards putting Peachey into the 6 jumper but that gives us little options in the centres and to me that is our main area of concern moving forward.
Can anyone tell me when we last gave a youngster a crack at a centre position? I know Sami got one game there this year and I remember Lawton made his debut there that lasted half a game, but apart from that all that comes to mind is a series of journeymen or players that other clubs haven't wanted - or backrowers such as McQueen. Surely its time to give an up-and-comer a crack. We have had Kiah Cooper on the books all year and he hasn't even entered into conversations of being picked. Koni, Lee and Copley all cannot defend despite several chances, he surely can't do any worse.
AJ has to be our long term FB. I have to agree that Peachey may be our best option if nothing changes with recruitment.
Can someone explain why the club was so quick to shut down the Joel Moon option. From what ive seen of him for leeds he can cover 6 and 4 really well. Defensively, he is aggressive and alot better than what we have now. I know Annersley has stated we are under some salary cap constraints but this guy wants to come home so he wouldnt be demanding huge money. He has gained alot of experience in big games over there and at 30 years old, i think he realises he has one last shot at the NRL. Maybe I missed something tho?
