I really don’t care much for Australia in Rugby League however if tonight they targeted Farah and Mitchell Moses playing for Lebanon to the point where both got carried off on stretchers then I’d be an incredibly proud Australian later tonight.

I’d then go celebrate with a late night Kebab

Guilty as charged TP. Yes the Socceroos I do follow closely. I just can’t get passionate about International Rugby League. Doesn’t do it for me. The Kangaroos tours to England/France in the 70s-90s used to be massive to me but since Super League my interest has waned significantly.

TP-a question back at you: How emotionally are you attached to the Wallabies??

    Some interesting comments on here.

I really wish that they stabilised the pay structure back to covering costs only so that teams could select on equal footing. Would that mean that RCG would play for Fiji?

I watch PNG with interest but only to see the progress of Moresby league rather than the Kumuls per se. Tonga, Kiwi, Fiji and Samoa all are more interesting with the players they have available.

England just look boring. Australia without any really mongrel forwards seem clinical but uninteresting ... they'll win in a canter but hopefully they play Tonga so there is some passion in the decider.

As for the rest, well good on them and let's hope they get the numbers up to 16 so there are no ridiculous cross-overs or teams playing 1/4's without winning a game.

Stand along Origin weekends with internationals sounds great, particularly for the Pacific region and perhaps the money saved on paying 30k to the Australian players and the increased gate takings could fund the model?

Surely England are underdogs in the quarter final clash with the mighty Kumuls

International footy is my first passion and why I love Rugby League so much.

I think we have turned a corner but the level of the game is truly friendless and needs to be placed on greater priority.

Fortunately the TV ratings have been spectacular.

The huge crowds for the Melo-Poly nations are carrying it ... if you take those games to Old Blighty, you'll get twenty people through the gate.

Darwin is headed for a sell out of 14,000, NZ games not looking so healthy at all.

Also a reminder, anyone headed to the Semi or Final in Brissie, I'm keen to catch up.
