Capalaba is a great track, I should get down there more often.

Albion is my usual haunt though.

I got the names of some of my dogs back. Tell you more about them another time. But I got all my first choices, so I'm very happy.

hey dad's decided not to nominate any of our dogs this week for capalaba - he went to the physio with them and have discovered they all had torn muscles - bit of a shame but thats racing

Vastly improved Queensland galloper Mr Raudonikis will back up in Sydney on Wednesday week in the heats of the Peter Mosman Classic at Wentworth Park.

But first the son of Elite State-Quicksilver Sal has a date with destiny when he lines up in the Group 1 Maturity (525m) at The Meadows on Saturday night.

Owner-trainer Lee Elgood is ecstatic at the improvement in the dog and his chances on Saturday night.

?I came home from Melbourne with the flu and a Group 1 contender,? he said. ?I?m quietly confident he can win because he has drawn exactly where I wanted him.

?He came from last early in the semi-final and gave Collapse 12 lengths start and ran him to a head.

?They paid $50,000 for Collapse a few weeks ago. I paid $1500 for my bloke as a pup.?

The first person on the phone to congratulate Elgood was rugby league legend Tommy Raudonikis after who the dog was named.

?Those Victorians and their silly AFL ? they could not pronounce Tommy?s name when it came to the box draw last Saturday night. My daughter Mia soon put ?em right. He?s a legend.

?And Tommy?s wrapped. Both of us have backed him pre-race at very big odds,? said Elgood.

?I got 200-1 early in the series and Tommy jumped on at 50-1. He?s now down to $13 on Sportsbet in Queensland,? said Elgood.

?But we have only backed him straight out. Where we come from at Wests it?s all or nothing.?

Elgood could not have been happier with the way his dog pulled up after the semi-final performance. ?He was ready to go again on Sunday morning,? he said.

?He only has to be a half length closer in the final and he can win. The three box is exactly where I wanted him to draw.?

Gee whiz thats a shame about texas gold he was a freak hes last sections were of this planet to bad about his starts though but this dog was one of the best distance dogs ever
