Its official. Taupau to Manly. Missed another opportunity, especially if they were able to offload Ballin to the Tigers as part of the deal.

Disappointed we missed Taupau , BUT would gladly take McQueen , Grant & Walker.
This hurts to say but Manly are doing something down there a hell of a lot better than us. They get a new coach who manages to bring quality players from the club he is leaving. They tell half their players they are unwanted whether they are contracted or not and manage to offload quite a few of them. Ballin who says he is going nowhere and didn't even get a chance for a final game for the club has now just signed with the Tigers, which has allowed the Sea Eagles to sign Taupau. We on the other hand have cash in hand and can't even fill a 25 man roster whilst not wanting to ditch the excess non-performing players.
They are doing something right down there and we need to learn from it.
We are ditching the underperforming players...
Mate we've ditched Myles, White, Falloon, Taylor, Sezer (to a degree) and all the players we've bought are definite upgrades on these players. Mortimer, Zillman and Burr are the only ones left imo. Mortimer is a chance at leaving, and so is Burr because he's OC. What more do you want?
Yeah I don't see what you mean JB. We've ditched plenty of the underperforming players.

Myles, White, Falloon and Sezer were all at the end of the contracts. I'm talking about our team negotiating with other teams to ditch the players we don't want and are dragging our cap down. Gordon, Srama, Zillman, Hala, Taylor (who we are paying for to play for another team).
Gordon is supposedly retired. King has told these players that they can explore their options elsewhere. The last thing we want to do is to pay these players to play for other teams.
What I mean is that Manly just traded a broken Matt Ballin for Marty Taupau. Obviously not that simplistically (and putting contract values aside) but how do they manage to pull that off? We manage to offload players year after year to super league whilst paying half their wages and get nothing in return. With cash in hand we should be in the box seat of any major possible signings and yet we get outwitted by rival clubs.

My point is that we should be brokering the deal to find these players other clubs in exchange for what we need. Srama is coming into his second year of being unwanted.
