the BEST analysis of Gallen came from Mark Gasnier talking about whether Gallen should be in Origin team a couple of months ago...

He said he should, but he takes the easy metres from the good ball that should be going wide, and NSW needs a strong-willed halfback who will say 'oi, nick off Gal, get out of the way, its coming to me'

such a good statement. I'm not suggesting that Gallen only takes easy ball, as i know he does a lot of the hackwork too...but he and Bird get way too involved when they should 'nick off'.

We all know Myles was pretty useless this year, but LG played his very best when Bird was not playing.

Paasi has certainly improved his attack playing on the edge over the past 2 weeks but his lateral movement will prove a big barrier for his defence which is still fairly ordinary.

Lets not be blinded with his huge improvement in attack that we overlook his defence which is very weak as an edge defender.

lets get that Roger Fabri bloke up here. or at least find a torrent of his training blueprint.

Seriously...what Paasi did off a limited pre season is a bit crazy and he was improving rapidly at end of season when most were tailing off and looking ready for a spell.

I genuinely think he will be a bloke the whole NRL will sit up and watch soon.

edit: im not meaning to argue, not sure why i quoted you lol. i agree his Defence is not up to scratch which is why i say get some fitness and agility guys up here to train

That left edge defence has been crap for 5 years with any amount of players tried there ... do I have to mention Michaels, Bird and so many more. I think we need to be looking elsewhere for the answer to that.

We all watch so many games but I challenge you all to define our defensive structure for me please, because I can't get a read on it.
