NRL 2015 season preview: Gold Coast Titans
http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/
Overview: No major sponsor a month out from the season, Josh Hoffman the biggest signing and the club one of the top picks for the wooden spoon. Neil Henry, we wish you all the luck in the world.
Let's take a walk down Fair Dinkum Avenue: The Titans are going to struggle. They lack firepower virtually everywhere on the field, are poorly supported and mired in financial difficulties. Anything above the bottom four would be a win.
Best signing: Hoffman was unsure of his place at the Broncos but will get the chance to stand up and be counted at the Titans. He's not exactly the proven game-winner they need but adds some class and speed, likely from fullback.
Biggest loss: The Titans have been savaged by retirements and player losses. Mark Minichiello heads to Hull and will be missed for his strong carries and huge tank. Luke Bailey and Ash Harrison retire and even though they were on slowing legs, leave a sizable experience gap.
Secret star: Christian Hazard idolised Matt Bowen growing up and if the young half is half as good, the Titans should be well pleased. Could shine if given a shot.
Clipboard holder: The Titans were treading water under John Cartwright (now a Cowboys assistant) and Henry has been given a monumental task to turn things around. A great thinker on the game, he'll need every trick in the book.
What's the talk in the sheds and stand? Does the club have a future? With limited corporate interested and dwindling support, questions are again being asked as to whether the Gold Coast deserves an NRL franchise.
Magic number: 33.5. The Titans missed 33.5 tackles per game last year. Compare that to the benchmark side in Souths (20 per game) and it paints a nasty picture of the Gold Coast defence.
What their opponents say: "They need to win some early games to generate some momentum and interest at home." Current NRL player.
What the bookies say: $67 to win the GF and and $4 to make the eight.
Draw: Tigers (H), Panthers (A), Newcastle (H), Sharks (A), Broncos (H), Eels (A), Panthers (H), Warriors (A), Raiders (A), Sharks (H), Bye, Souths (H), Tigers (A), Bulldogs (H), Warriors (H), Roosters (A), Bye, Manly (H), Newcastle (A), Brisbane (H), Parramatta (H), Storm (A), Bulldogs (A), Canberra (H), Dragons (H), Cowboys (A).

Well after reading those previews I might just call Lifeline. Bloody hell.
I am not expecting miracles, just an improvement in playing style, further development of the experienced players, and hopefully the emergence of some young players which gives considerable hope for the future.
I am hoping we will surprise a few.
I listen to talking sport most days & they all believe we will finish in the bottom 4 because we are relying on Mortimer @ 7, i'm with them if thats where he plays...
Also a very good read on League Unlimited better than most previews , thanks Titanic

Thanks Pete ... I wouldn't be too worried MT, there is no disgrace no matter where we finish as long as we have a real dig and the club demonstrates some fair opportunity to its roster. We don't have a Slater or a Johnstone, our stars are not in key positions and until we either invent a few or buy one then we will just have to face what we really are ... no worries at all, 2015 is a watershed year for the club and is shaping-up as the year that we challenge as true underdogs.
Four reasons to escape to Queensland: Sun, Surf, Sand & the Titans.
