Despite my desire to see all of the NSW players eat a meal of rancid tacos and refried beans just prior to Origin III (I'm lookin' at you in particular Robbie Farrah), I think Hodkinson would be a good complement to Elgey.

I dont want Hodgko here and wtf why did we have to lose Sezer!! Bloody DCE :'(
2013 - Sezer's breakout year
Hodko would be a great signing we don't need a superstar that's elgeys job lol we just need a solid player with a good boot and Hodko is just that
Knick knack patty whack give a DOG a bone
DCE f.........k off home
My issue is that Hodko is a 7 and so is Elgey so who moves to 6?
For those that don't want Hodkinson, can you suggest an alternative from players off contract, now that Maloney is signed by the Sharks. Mbye is not an option as he is signed. Surely no one seriously thinks an untried junior is a serious option.
I am concerned to read that Maloney took less money to go to the Sharks than we offered for him. It seems Hodkinson is the last option out there. Disaster if we miss him in my opinion.

Hodko would be a fine 6.
I'm not sure how much to read in to the whole Maloney accepted less to go with the Sharks..seems like a Sydney media beat-up to give that club some credit. Did Rothfield write the article by any chance? Annesley said less than a week ago that no formal offers had been made. Something doesn't add up about what the article says.
i read a shortened version of that article and it said 'a late offer from gold coast'. for all we know we throw a random number out there in last day or two not realising how close he was to signing.
im with mexican here, would be crazy NOT to get hodko now. even three years benefits both parties, while there young'uns develop and older players become available.
Hodko is unwanted where he is and we need a mature half.
as for 7 or 6... the only way it matters is if either of them are especially fond of the number... as they will both play both first and second receiver at different points when they arent stationed on their designated sides of the field. LG creating on the left, and hodko feeding roberts on the right like he did jennings on wendesday.
Neil Henry just made an explicit point in the press conference that we did not make an offer to James Maloney whatsoever and the news as reported was false.
Of course not. That is a ridicuous comment really as I've never mentioned Sandow anywhere. The disaster would be investing in a player who is not very good and who is going to be committed to a State Of Origin team every year. In my opinion, we would be better off keeping money under the cap so that we can get somebody better, later.
If we panic we will end up paying overs for a very, very average footballer.

I think Martin is an excellent player but we need success immediately, I don't want to go throught more rebuilding seasons.
We need our talent scouts to be confident enough in their ability to select unproven NRL talent that they know will be top shelf and then beat all the suitors. This is what the salary cap room should be used on. Short term overs to attract the next big things to the coast.
Geese are the ultimate team players.
They honk to encourage one another!
