Isn't Mead still half injured? Seriously you can't judge a coach until he has a full season at the top. Plus with all of the injuries who do you expect to come into the team? Stop being so judgemental FFS

Hardly one to stick up for Zillman but judging from Mead's effort last week he needs to either continue to be rested or to be eased back into the team ... but T4L is right, we can get rid of Zillman next pre-season.
Four reasons to escape to Queensland: Sun, Surf, Sand & the Titans.
At the end of the day. this is how I see it:
We wanted Cartwright gone - He is gone
A new coach had to be appointed, and with the differing opinions on coaches on this forum, there was always going to be people against the new appointment.
2-3 years gives whoever the coach is a decent crack at getting the setup they want, and time to get results, any less is unfair on them, anymore is unfair on us.
I for one am just happy to see a decision made, and now it is Henry's chance to try and rebuild the team.
Bring on 2015 to see what he has planned

We have the Mead, the Mead for speed!!!
3 years? Seriously? Have we learned nothing?
We can complain all we want about the length of time but its done. Carty is gone and we have a new coach. Unfortunately we arent all gonna be pleased but bottom line is we need to suck it up and support the club because this is a better position than we were in.
Cant believe some of the negativity in here..tough crowd.
This is particularly concerning if true. Not sure I can stand another 3 years of Vice Captain Zillman being an auto-pick, teacher's pet.
That said, I find myself genuinely looking forward to a new chapter for the GC Titans. Hopefully all concerned have learned a lesson from the previous regime and there are performance related clauses/KPI's in the new coach's contract. You'd think after seeing what effect public opinion and poor results had on the last coach, some of Henry's goals would be playing exciting footy and player accountability. If those become legitimate expectations of all concerned, I expect we'll see some positive personnel and positional changes amongst the playing group in 2015.
Jury is definitely out on whether or not Henry is a top 8 coach... or whether he was the best option for us going forward. But like others have said, there's no point making a decision on these questions until mid 2015 at the absolute earliest. Ultimately - Carty and Searle had to go. They're gone. I think with that result alone, it's reasonable enough to assume that we can't play a more boring, clueless, ineffective style of footy under Henry than what we've served up for 3+ years. We might not stack up more wins in the short term, but hopefully we can build a new roster and a work on a style of football that is at the very least, fun to watch.

Not really surprised that it was a 3 year contract. I'm happy with it. He has my support. Just worried do we have the cattle?
PUT EM TO THE SWORD! SHOW SOME STEEL!

Time to get behind him and support him.[/QUOTE]
Karnage, you have been a very vocal advocate for change of coach and I am happy to hear some positive sentiment.
Like many of us I had to come to the conclusion that the coach was the common denominator in the teams lack of success but the players were still complicit in the failures. I am now looking forward to support for Henry. He deserves a chance and that chance includes the support of fans. I don't expect instant results but I think with the changing of the guard it is necessary to ditch emotional connections to individual players and get on supporting the players that stand up and get results. If Henry has a clean out and brings in players that support his plan, I support it whole heartedly. No one is sacred and Bird and Myles should be looking over their shoulder at up and coming players.
There's bound to be performance clauses and get out clauses for both sides

I didn't hear too many Cowboys fans calling for his head when they were in the finals.
I'm very happy to have him for what we've had. Time for us to get behind him, not smash him 5 minutes into the job.
