I have always found it hysterical that for a team based on the border of NSW and QLD. we have bought 2 co-captains that are despised in the opposite state. It is almost like they are trying for supporters to find a reason to hate them.

Great post Goose. I could talk a fair bit about our development pathways - they are decidedly lacking...

This is out of today's Lurker, wouldn't read too much into it but at least the traction is gaining.

    Time up for Cartwright?
The Titans will make a decision on the future of coach John Cartwright within three weeks. A board meeting is scheduled for August 20 to examine a detailed report into the club’s football operations. There is a fear at the Titans they could lose assistant coach Neil Henry, the obvious replacement for Cartwright, unless they act on the coaching position ASAP. Henry has been mentioned as a candidate for three others clubs – the Wests Tigers, Dragons and Knights.

This board meeting will most likely decide the future of the Titans. Hopefully we will see change but any things possible with this club.

I appreciate that you will need to be fairly careful with what you say, but any chance of a broad summary of what is discussed tonight?

So i think from reading the article that the review is expected to finish around late August so essentially the season will be over by then. Having realised that it is unlikely we will have a new coach this year and one would hope we will have a new coach next year.

The meeting was excellent. The guy who ran it was very professional and kept the whole evening running to his plan, but every single person got their say.

Let me start with this - the top end of town, Palladium Members, are every bit as angry as we are and I believe the words that a couple of the men used resonated very strongly. One man, I don't know who he was, was incredibly impressive. He actually mentioned that he applied to be a board member but received no correspondence.

There was another gentleman there in a suit who rattled off a lost of all the players Carty has payed in the centres for the past 7 years, everyone a back rower, it was hilarious.

Here are a few things I feel comfortable discussing openly:
Carty is the lowest paid coach in the NRL.
The front office staff need as much (or more) support than the playing staff.
Neil Henry is renowned as the hardest worker in the football department - first in last out.
We do not have a person in place at the club who specialises in statistical analysis.
Palladium members pay $15k or $20k per year (can't remember) but get slugged $200 to take their kids (!!!!!!!) to a game.
There was a very strong impression given that the playing group as a whole lack professionalism.

    Here's one from left field:
Engaging players from Gen-Y is going to have to be a large focus for the club moving forward, they're an enigma!!!

There was plenty more that I don't want to discuss on an open forum but I'd honestly stand and chat to anybody for half an hour about this stuff over a beer.

    1. i would love to take you up on that offer of a beer and chat. sounds interesting. my shout!

    2. i would give me left nut to help with statistical analysis as a VOLUNTEER! i think i could gleem many stats and useful nuggets look at the data. i wouldnt be 'qualified' as such, but i promise i could add value and insight. where do i send my resume lol?

    3. good to hear Henry is a hard worker, and i can believe the players arent as professional as they need to be. i think if any of them went to a bulldogs or storm training session they wouldnt beleive what it takes.

    thanks for the info Karnage.

cheers mate ... the lack of professionalism is abundantly clear by viewing their resumes and their position on the ladder.
