It's going to be a close one but I see the home town advantage working the way for NSW.

The Blues victory in Game 1 has really set up an amazing series.

Fans will come out in force for Game 2. I'm sure it will be sold out. And the atmosphere will be amazing.

If anything, wouldn't NSW be more dangerous if Fifita and Bird are in, also if either of the Morris brothers are injured..wouldn't you slot in Hopoate in to the centre spot and put Tafua or Mead on the wing?

Reynolds free to play Origin II

New South Wales five-eighth Josh Reynolds has been successful in having his Dangerous Throw charge downgraded at the NRL judiciary on Thursday night, making the gritty No.6 available for selection in Game Two of the 2014 Holden State of Origin Series.

Reynolds was originally charged with a Grade 2 offence that carries with it 325 demerit points but his guilty plea and downgrade to a Grade 1 charge means he receives 93 demerit points and will be free to play for the Bulldogs against the Sea Eagles in Round 13 prior to the naming of Laurie Daley's team for Origin II on June 18.

Queensland winger Brent Tate was visibly shaken after the game on Wednesday night as a result of the tackle in the 28th minute of the match that involved Reynolds and Blues back-rower Beau Scott and scoffed at the incident only drawing a Grade 2 charge.

In his first appearance in the Blues run-on side Reynolds was superb for NSW, running for 98 metres, combining wonderfully with man of the match Jarryd Hayne on the right and throwing himself into each of the 19 tackles he made during the course of the match.

The Blues aren't without injury concerns however as they endeavour to break Queensland's eight-year stranglehold with Will Hopoate the early pick to replace Josh Morris (knee injury) at right centre while Greg Bird is the obvious addition for the injured Anthony Watmough (biceps).

I didn't think it was a horrible tackle but there should have been a lot more care with the tackle, that is for sure. Very relieved that Reynolds is free for Origin II..barring injury of course. It still looks like Hopoate is replacing Josh Morris though. A backline of Hayne, Morris, Hopoate, Jennings and Tupou is pretty good though.

It wasn't dangerous & a week is enough , why is that tackle any worse then something like Parker & his elbow to the throat , it's Origin we all know the rules are different & I'm happy to see more dirty play when it's Origin..

Time to sort out the Blues scum in Game 2. It'll all just make shattering their dreams for a 9th year all the more fun.

Morris set to miss rest of Origin series

NSW stars Josh and Brett Morris could miss the rest of the State of Origin series, with the Bulldogs centre suffering significant knee damage and the Dragons winger a major shoulder injury.

Canterbury has confirmed Josh Morris will be sidelined for up to eight weeks due to a knee injury suffered in Wednesday's interstate opener.

Morris suffered the injury in the second half of the Blues' epic 12-8 win in Brisbane but will miss the return match in Sydney on June 18 and is unlikely to take the field for Game III on July 9.

The Bulldogs confirmed on Friday their star back will be out for 6-8 weeks due to a posterior cruciate ligament injury.

Brett Morris partially dislocated his shoulder while scoring a try in Origin I and the Dragons today confirmed he would be sidelined indefinitely.

A Dragons statement said a Friday CT scan had confirmed a fracture and ligament damage in Morris's right shoulder.

A recovery and rehab program is still to be determined.

NSW back-rower Anthony Watmough is also in grave doubt for the second Origin match with an arm injury.

Blues skipper Paul Gallen is a touch-and-go proposition due to a neck injury, while St George Illawarra star Brett Morris is confident he will take the field at ANZ Stadium as NSW seek to break Queensland's eight-year stranglehold over Origin.

Well, it looks like Hopoate and Tafua will be the new centre and wing combo, which isn't a terrible thing at all. If anything, isn't Hopoate just as good or even better? :s

Dave Taylor should stroll onto into the game 2 team with enough room to be twirling a cane while he does so. Some major changes needed to our QLD team but to go that close after losing cronk early game 2 is shaping up to be a cracker. Even though it wont happen I really wish Tate would be dropped for game 2...he was way off the pace the other night I think QLD needs some explosive pace out wide. Papali can go, Mcqueen didnt do much but i was a huge fan of Guerra! Didnt penetrate the line too much but had a crack and had some solid hits. Looking forward to game 2!
